Nee one is saying that Durham isnt allowed Newcastle fans. It's the putting of the cathedral on the flag that seems to suggest 'Durham is part of Newcastle '. Its sad as fuck. Why not put the bridge on and the actual castle , even the sage, Baltic etc.. but Spanish City ? It's just more bizarre behaviour to add to the catalogue of mentallness which now resembles the Encyclopdia Brittanica in girth
The Baltic isnt part of Newcastle either, likewise The Angel

What should people be talking about on a message board then? Start a thread or two, put your money where your mouth is

It's 17 pages about a flag. Stop crying you pathetic fanny.

If everyone started a thread about such trivial things, this forum would be full of completely pointless threads about Newcastle.

All of those are on.

Newcastle has never been anywhere near County Durham... it would be pushing credibility if it claimed Alnwick or Bamburgh castle but at least they are in Northumberland
Didnt the county durham border go as far as the tyne at gateashead? and the river was the border ..thats pretty close to Newcastle!I was Born in couty Durham .fek tyne and wear!

i've lived in Durham for 56 years and I'd quite happily be called a wearsider. I also think the residents of Witton-le-wear would proudly bear the name.

Maybe so. It is be (side) the river. It certainly wouldn't offend me.
But I've never heard anyone in Durham call it WEARSIDE. My dad lived there all his life and he never did.

So newcastle isn't on Tyneside in that case!

Of course it is. Just like Sunderland is on Wearside.

Hexham and Prudhoe aren't on Tyneside though.

Hexham and prudhoe are both next to the river tyne though.

I have. It's the usual drivel about strongholds, cabals of people determined to do down the good people of Sunderland by any means and bandwagon filthy Durham mags.

The place is more or less equidistant between both cities yet for some reason it's absurd that we'd have a significant section of our support from there.

Is it the size that matters? It's been funded near enough 50% by our Durham supporterbase. If it was a smaller flag that said 'Durham Mags' and had the cathedral on, would that be okay?

that's a few times you've mentioned the distance, clutching at straws imo
durham and sunderland are on the wear. newcastle and north shields are on the tyne so why not have wet and wild on your sackless flag.

Unless you live on Wearside Drive. can understand why they put magnificent Durham Cathedral on the flag there are no outstanding buildings in Newcatle. They have not even got a full castle just two halves.

This might have been said somewhere in the previous seventeen pages but is it not for all the Durham mags? Some of whom contributed to the flag?
