Portsmouth Supporters... Scum

Been watching footy for 40+ years and always had a bit of a soft spot for Pompey before this season.

Proper club, proper fans, always travelled in good numbers, been through the highs and lows, their City similar to ours in many ways.

But some of the pr!cks who were at Wembley and at the SOL today have turned that on it's head. Absolute bellends, giving it the big un and talking like tw@ts.

I hadn't realised we were able to stir up animosity from a club the other end of the country with no real previous with us (in recent years anyway) just by being in the same division as them.

I hope we do get them in the playoffs.

Coming out of the ground, my lad asked why one of your fans would throw a flare. I told him that I didn't know, but the person who did it was a complete coward.

Tbe bloke in front turned round abs practically squared up to me - he seemed fairly proud of what had happened.

Being superb isn't just about the noise you make or the atmosphere. All teams have a minority of arseholes following them, but it was more than a minority of your lot acting like arseholes at Wembley and more than a minority today looking for bother. That’s why so many of our fans are pissed off

Fair enough. Unfortunately, I'm a bit thick and didn't finish my post. He was very put out at the fact that the flare thrower was called a coward. In fact, he seemed quite proud of what had happened.

However, I'm sensible enough to know that not all of your fans are like this - spoke to quite a few before the match and on my journey up from the game who were all decent. Shame you've been let down by a large contingent of wankers.

Maybe the noise and atmosphere could be confused with hostility? How many of your supporters actually passed the time with our fans? No one goes to football to feel intimidated, I had a good chat with loads of your fans at Wembley, no trouble whatsoever

I was also in the north stand and when we let our displeasure about the flare known towards the Pompey fans above us all we got was goading. If the flamethrower got abuse from his own fans then I didn't see much sign of it. It looked to me like most of the chavvy would-be's up there were revelling in it.

I'm happy to agree that all clubs have dickheads amongst their support but from what I've seen at Wembley and today, you lot have got more than your fair share. Reminded me of another club I can think of, where a large section of fans display stupidity like its a badge of honour.

Prematch today, I was again talking to some lovely folk from the South Coast, but it has to be said there was a nasty edge to their support. Before Wembley we had good craic with Pompey fans. Long after in London, with those in big family groups we did too.

Weirdly, Wembley and today it was just after leaving the ground it was at its worst.
Intimidation is part and parcel of being a fan. But at the leaving of both grounds it had that real edge from Pompey fans imo.

Leaving Wembley I was with me uncle who's 75 and tries to get on with everyone. He was trying to chat to Pompey fans and telling them well done etc, and we were getting edge and 'crying on Netflix' etc in return. I actually had to tell him to stop trying to craic on with them as not everyone Is as canny as him.
Before today's match there were Pompey fans in the fanzone, all fine. But again, leaving , there was the edge again.
Walking outta north stand there was the edge, in ya face etc.

Weird.

Not sure what to make of it. Spoke to some decent Pompey fans over the last 2 games but also felt a definite edge.

Not sure why it even exists.
