Donald turns down 70m bid

I agree in this case. To be a success in the Premiership or even in the Championship takes a lot of disposable money which the owner might never get back. I certainly cannot believe Donald would ever just take the money without caring into whose hands the club was sold in the same way Bob Murray did.

I’m a big critic of Murray but I think that’s unfair. He sold on relatively cheaply and to a consortium led by Quinn who clearly had the interests of the club at heart. And I don’t think many were complaining with how we performed after the takeover in the first couple of seasons.

Who knows if it's the meth. I think it probably is.

I like them both and our crazy Uruguayan. I think they/Stewart mainly take a lot to heart, totally understandable considering it's their/his money directly. I'd just have a bit of caution if I was them, take time to fully learn and accept were mostly piss pots and hot headed on a match day then together we will all move forward as one like they are looking to achieve. Its a very frustrating life as a sunderland fan but when we play well, win and the odd time achieve something you'll see it's all been worth while. Hopfully these next 4 games show them this.

(also an exciting manager gets a instant cult following here and we can achieve anything in them circumstances, going forward)

People criticising Murray

Look at what he left us

Superb stadium & training facilities

He wasn't a billionaire like Short

Ok with Short we had ten seasons in the premiership

No higher than tenth

Muarray & king Reid 7 placed twice

Those slagging Murray off.

Fuck off

I think you misunderstand. I was actually trying to say Bob Murray cared enough to ensure the club was sold to the right people at the time.

The new owners have had very little in the way of criticism from supporters and have even developed their own kind of cult following in the same way as a manager would. Whether it be making a massive deal out of Charlie Methven drinking pints or wearing red trousers, having lovely hair and smelling nice, taking selfies with them at every opportunity, labelling the owner ‘The Don’ and responding to every call to arms for ticket sales and support, the supporters have rallied around them and done their bit this season. Any criticisms or skepticism tends to be fairly quickly rounded upon by other supporters so it’s not as if they’ve faced any kind of proper wholesale stick that’d make them want out of the club (a couple of unpleasant knackers aside getting personal on social media).

Im fairly convinced that if they sell up it will be because the size of the job has surprised them and they don’t have the finance to take us on and / or because they’ve an opportunity to make a profit. I’ve no problem with either of those things whatsoever if they leave the club in a better state than when they arrived (ie on an upward curve and back in the Championship). It’ll be a mutually beneficial spell for the owners and the club.

Apologies.

Nail on head

Everyone from Donald etc to players have said

You don't kna how massive Sunderland is till you've been here

Apart from us fans of course

I doubt they’d want out just yet. They’re obviously business men, thus, driven to make money. But they’re also passionate about football, see our club as special, and they’d definitely like to see just how far they can take it.
I hope they’re here for a long time to come, with investment from Sartori or whoever building up through the years.

EDIT. Anyway, if it’s a link to The Sun, then who gives a fuck about anything they write.

I obviously think at first they saw us least two season investment

But like I posted earlier

No knows how massive we are till they have a few months in the hot seat

Then they think woo I'm f***ing stopping here

First streetwise owners that I can remember, hopefully we've gotten under the Don's and Salmon pant's skin....

Said the same thing the last time these rumours surfaced. I ll be sad to see them go if they do sell up. Might not have huge sums of cash but I like what I ve seen of them in the short period they’ve been here.

Hope SD consulting his lawyers again bout more crap the Sun is printing about him

I’ve found the cult following unnerving

They’ve done alright, no more

They needed to cut costs but I don’t understand why it gets so much Praise

I’d rather they stayed an ran it for longer although I’ve never been convinced they’ll be here long term. I think short giving them such a great deal has allowed them to buy safc
