Donald turns down 70m bid

Unlike Ellis Short, Stewart Donald knows football and especially has his finger on the pulse as far as turning a club around. He will know only too well of the riches in the Premiership but these are restricted to only a very few teams. In my view, and in our position, he would have to be a billionaire to run the club in the Premiership as it would hardly likely be a cash cow for him. Therefore, It wouldn't surprise me if he did sell the club to ensure funding and our survival in the Championship and Premiership.

Hasn’t Donald recently said that he doesn’t need to make a quick few quid out of the club?
He is already a successful millionaire after all.

Even if he did sell, I’d be fairly confident of him leaving us in good hands.

Didn't they run this story a few weeks back, and Donald tweeted that it was bollocks?

They didn't, they said that there were 2 potential buyers in which Donald rubbished the rumours of. I don't think he wants to sell I think he wants investment if anything. Also Charlie Methven was reportedly sat with some Asian blokes on Friday at the game. So there could be some truth in the rumour.

Which would rule this Malaysian business out of the running

Let’s be honest if they get a good offer they’ll sell straight away.
Why? Have they really added any value yet?
Surely if they are looking for profit they need to add value by getting the club established as a PL club again or at worst a leading Championship club with the infrastructure to make a PL return.

I agree in this case. To be a success in the Premiership or even in the Championship takes a lot of disposable money which the owner might never get back. I certainly cannot believe Donald would ever just take the money without caring into whose hands the club was sold in the same way Bob Murray did.

Charlie is kildaremackem. He puts on the hideous spelling mistakes so people thinks it's not him as he clearly isn't as thick as pig shit

Deffo, never posts during games, too knowledgeable about board level thinking and decision making, sentences too well structured for the standard of spelling, the odd literary quote thrown in and even adding 'like' at the end of posts for authenticity.
Must be a real bugger ignoring spellcheck.

What he has done for this club in a short space of time is remarkable! He genuinely cares, I don’t know the bloke or what his agenda is, but would love to hope it’s not to make a quick profit as A Sunderland fan enjoying winning games again!

Sometimes I think it is, others not so much  Whoever it is clearly isn’t a Sunderland supporter mind. He has very little time for club history and a bit of a disregard for other ‘big clubs’ which is a bit in line with a few of Methven’s public comments. He’s always happy to gan along with a bit of criticism of Methven as well.

However, there’s been a bit of criticism of Jack Ross which makes me think it probably isn’t him. Love a bit of pointless SMB mystery

Donald said it was rubbish but with Oxford in trouble I wouldn’t be surprised if he sold up and wanted to buy them

He’s done a fantastic job. And I’d rather he didn’t sell, however he’s a businessman, and there will come a time when he can’t take us any further. I hope it’s later rather than sooner. Ultimately when he does move on I’d trust him to do what’s right for the club.

His posts also get worse grammatically and spelling-wise the more worked up he gets
