VARguments

Yeah it’s great watching the skills that the modern day players have perfected in how to con referees, maybe we should have end of season awards for *simulation* of the season.

I'd rather watch a much more skillful footballer who does the odd dive than a binman who doesn't.

I was against it prior to the world cup, and I'm still not a massive fan of it. But like brexit, swimming against the tide of inevitable change does no good for anybody.

I'm 29 so can't really remember keepers being able to pick the ball up from a back pass, but I remember loads doing so. My point is it takes a while for people to get used to change. They was no way the system was going to implement seamlessly, and it will always be susceptible to human error. But the more people rally against it, the longer it'll take to get it somewhere that is widely accepted.

The backpass rule transformed the game, and sped it up. This is doing the opposite.

Because most sports including cricket Tennis rugby etc are slower than football that's why

I'm sick of repeating this one game took three minutes to decide if there was a goal recently certain a Man Utd game true they got the correct decision but it's too slow & they've had more than a year to sort this out

Once again as someone else pointed out it's caused more arguments rather than decreased them

More like ten.

It used to be if you were inline with the last defender you were onside, but now they're measuring it with lasers.
Have they now finally perfected this technology request from 1997?

Just watching Levante v Valladolid and Valladolid have just had a goal chalked off after a four and a half minute delay whilst they checked VAR, and it still wasn’t conclusive either in my eyes or the commentary team.
Prepare for mayhem when it is unleashed here.

Shambles. Great for TV viewers though eh?
Crowds still aren't used to VAR - look how the poor bastards celebrated that City goal. Give it a couple of years and you'll see goals being scored and no reaction from the crowd. Well done, another nail in footballs coffin.

VAR resulted in the correct decision being given meaning the team that deserved to go through actually went through.

When you’re talking hundreds of millions of pounds these things have to be right. Cardiff could well be relegated due to incompetent officials.

And yes, the answer is to remove the money.
