Missiles being hoyed all game from North Stand Upper

After a young lass had been clipped by a bottle, we went to the stewards and they actually said “there’s nothing we can do”

I have a child who now doesn’t want to go back to the match. I can’t remember being this angry.

I’m in the same position mate. My daughters first game, any chance of getting her into football is now gone thanks to these idiots. Poor lass behind, row 12, looked absolutely terrified as well, as did others around. Cowardly behaviour, they wouldn’t have hit a kid in the street where the parent could batter them of course.

I’ve got emails drafted as well to send to Northumbria police, the club and the fa. Just waiting a day or two to calm down first, I’d only get myself into bother if I started tonight.

I worked in the away end for the pre match today, I work there most of the time.

Coventry were the worst behaved fans all season pre game, letting flares and bangers off and the police and stewards stood and watched, this set the precedent.

Normally the bars would shut and alcohol would be stopped but this didn’t happen.

It’s weird working the away end, the stewards are mostly old blokes, lasses or very young inexperienced lads, useless if it ever kicks off. Walk to other parts of the ground and you have strapping blokes. No wonder the away fans fancy their luck.

Heard a few Geordie voices and they got that Sunderland’s a massive club song going.

The north stand just is suited for away fans. Too few entrances which are thin and it all bottle necks before kick off meaning people can sneak bottles through.

Police are mags too, a bunch of them today were talking about ‘our’ game last night, when they played spurs in the early ko a few weeks back they were vocal that they were mags. Not that this stops them from doing their job properly.

Then we would fully expect some sort of repercussions. I do not believe the ‘police laughed off missiles being thrown.

I’m not denying there were missiles being thrown because I was there.

I picked up a bottle that missed another around 10 year old lad near me and took it and gave it to a policeman. Response was “what do you want me to do about it?”. I thought better of it and walked away, never been to angry in my life

I witnessed a wife and her husband get told to sit down or else. The maddest thing is shit was still coming down and the steward just ignored it like it wasn't happening, possibly the most surreal moment ever at a home game for me.
let's face it, the stewards are special anyway....not sure what they could do to stop it during the game.

The Cov lot reckon it was only when they scored ?

Im the same mate. Im livid, but I want to calm down before I send the emails.

Mind. I want the club to make a statement tomorrow. If not, they care less than the Short regime

I’ve had a SC for nearly 30 consecutive seasons and never once have I considered packing in. Today, however, after witnessing kids crying when those cowardly, homeless fuckers, were chucking bottles and coins, has made me consider next season.

Was my daughters first game today. Plan was season ticket for her to join me and my dad. I’ve been going 22 years now, him 47 and would have been a nice family thing. Actually enquired about a season ticket when I was down for the little one but couldn’t have a new one just yet. Rethinking this big time now, not just hers but mine as well.
