Lads fans today

Very much so.

Also it was funny that because the stadium is big, there was about a second delay between their fans making noise for a goal etc and us hearing them (we were behind the goal).
Yes. I thought the same, from my cheap seat in the gods.

There was some absolute wankers sitting around me mind.

One lad speaking on his phone the first half an hour totally ignoring the game.

Lad in front kept dropping off to kip through the whole first half, only spoke once to scream at the fella in front of him standing (for about 30 seconds to sing) - tried to start on me when I asked him to leave it, battered the shit out of his seat when they scored and stormed out before the end. Worlds biggest fan eh.

Had another fella screaming at his son to stop crying when we lost...

I must have been at a different game.
I thought our support was excellent.
You hardly heard Pompey in the first half when we were outplaying them.
They were better the second half because they were all ower us and at the end when they’d just won a penalty shoot out.
It’s galling though the amount of Mags now coming on here slating our fans and praising the oppositions.

It’s strange at half time down on the concourse when I was trying to get a pint, I can’t recall the main topic of conversation being how shit our support had been and Pompey’s had been awesome.
I was surrounded by singing dancing chanting people.

By far the greatest team after we took the lead was louder than anything pompey sang all game.
You can't say that man, doesn't go with slagging our fans off on here. Were we great? No. Were we terrible? Not at all. Did we sing? Yes. Were pompey singing none stop? Were they fuck. Were they loud when they scored? Most definitely. All in all, me and the family had a class weekend, Covent garden and Trafalgar square were class.l, life long memories. Seeing my daughters face, when she saw 40k Sunderland fans in Wembley, priceless. Some people just aren't happy unless they are bitching about anything Sunderland.

Pompey had three songs that anyone could sing.

Agreed. Easy for folk to join in the pompey songs as there's nothing to 'em.

There were lots of occasions in our end where different chants were getting started at the same time and none of them got going.

In our row there were nanas, young lasses, my 2 young girls who don't sing and you wouldn't hear them if they did. Football is changing man. It's more inclusive. We were still loud as fuck at times, quieter at other times (funny how the footy on the pitch made a difference to this). Once upon a time it would be all lads and dads screaming the heads off and it might have been louder. I think SAFC really got to my 10 yo daughter this weekend. Would I fuck give up seeing the joy on her face when we equalised just so it could be a bit louder for some bellend harking back to bygone days.

What a day at the Final. The support from 85,000 fans was simply incredible. fans still partying around Wembley now. were absolutely deafening at times. Cracking contest too - a thrill again to be the announcer at

There was an organised “Wise men Say” played over the tannoy at about 2-2.10 and it was canny....but half of our fans were still at the drink. IF we’d all been in it would have been awesome and a great start in the build up.

My lads were a few rows behind some knacker that spent most of his time standing up berating folk for not singing whilst he wasn't even watching the match and was clearly more bothered about what everyone else was doing. Apparently he was removed after a couple of folk had words with him. If you are moved to sing or shout great. If you are the self appointed, self congratulating empty vessel banging their toy drum and tantruming (not even sure that's aword like) when people around you don't do as you say then everyday life must be a struggle. I thought the atmosphere was like a lot of games now, ferocious at times then big deafening silences from all corners. As someone else has said, the way the sound carries doesn't work well for a lot of our songs and Haway The Lads sung relentlessly is the closest we have to a simple do re mi Pompey chimes which works even if folk are out of sync. I'm not really in favour of shitty plastic flag waving unless its bairns enjoying themselves.

That choked me up. Thought of me Dad and just being part of a Sunderland crowd like that had me

Weird sitting with strangers and I felt odd shouting and clapping them on in a bunch of librarians
Maybe all knackered
The match didn't seem to mean anything to a lot
Ran to bog a lot and there's people talking and drinking underneath??

Had a look at Sky highlights
After our 2nd goal the commentator " believe me this place is actually shaking "

Our support is an embarrassment to the club most of the time, these days.
Apart from the odd mag I don't think anyone in football fullstop would say that
Odd from a fan
The numbers speak for themselves
Its just a bit fragmented
We were loud and turned up in numbers I was just impressed with how loud and together Pompey were
