Chester-le-Street

Fair comment. The Queens Head is okay rather than brilliant. The right words are that it's better than others in Chester-le-street as it does have some proper beers on tap (I don't count Wetherspoons).

The Butchers Arms is the standout pub, though some of my mates arent keen due to the lack of a pool table.

Does Ronnie the Eyetilian and his lass Stacey still have the Queens? Canny bloke for a Mag.

I'm sure it was Bates and I'm sure it was with his "toothbrush". Of course Clive knocked around with another lad - Buck Telfer? Anyone remember him? IIRC he got shot somewhere in Shiney Row? Anyone remember that?

Clive Bates is dead, yes. Ended up living Newcastle way but died a canny few years ago now. Not sure what John is working as but I'm friends with both Paul and john on Facebook. I don't go on very much now but John breeds Pit Bulls.

Falcon being demolished? Bloody hell.

Buck Telford from shiney - shot himself in tinkers

I know Carlton, his sister fiona who was married to Davie Miller and Carlton’s wife Elaine McKenna as was. Know Elaine’s brother Mick who was a massive lads fan but doesn’t go anymore now.

Carlton has worked in Singapore or similar for decades.

Did you know doddsy who died recently? Quite a character
Carlton out in Singapore? Wish I knew that a couple of years ago when I was working out there was great mates back in the day. Lad with the nickname Duck, originally from Perkinsville then Pelaw lives out there as well

David Miller died didn't he? If Carlton and Fiona's brother was Ash he was big mates with ex Falcon manager Bob Youngers eldest son

Its somewhere over there. He was in Singapore for years and assume he is still there.

Davie Miller did die, unfortunately. Years ago now. I used to go on a pub crawl every saturday with Davie, Brad Wood, Billy Moist, Kevin Blair etc when I was about 17/18 for a good few years.

Apart from the Butchers that was pretty much our route each Friday night.
My mate used to call the Queen's Head the Fat Cat. How long ago was that? It must have been pre-1990 as I've always known it as The QH.

was a cider bar for a while called that...think late 80's. Also used to do the Fighting Cocks pre Horners name...used to have an old t shirt with Fighting cocks Chester on it with picture of 2 birds with boxing gloves...used to sometimes finish up in the Labour club on way home.

Think it was the Fat Cat around 83/84. It was a rough pub as you say and was the only pub on a Xmas Eve down Chester that wasn't full to the rafters.

Used to be canny when Charlie had it but don't think I've been in since he died.

Rosie’s in the 70s and 80s was run by dougie Marshall, I know his son Marty. Dougs daughter married nickers brother.

AND YES IT WAS THE FAT CAT FOR A WHILE, caps lock shite
