.... Corner see Norwich City beat us one nil at Wembley in the L. C. final at Wembley.

Ashurst drops semi final hero Colin West in preference to Ian Wallace who is anonymous in the game, and Davie C is robbed on the byeline leading to a shot that is heading for the keepers arms until it deflects off Chisholm and rolls in. Typical safc luck.

Walker, who has been so reliable from the spot all season misses the big one after Venison had been fouled early in 2nd half. Nightmare:confused:

Hodgson almost scores in the first minute but overall, Safc didn't do a great deal to give the fans much to shout about.

I class the 85 cup final as one of my biggest disappointments following the club. Missed out on a ticket in 73 the next time we get there we dont turn up on the pitch.
Then later you find out Cowies been messing about the players in the run up to the game. Colin West had supposedly been talking to Watford about a move or so the story went?

Huge disappointment, we hardly turned up.
Rumours of trouble behind the scenes and if so, not the best preparation.
Typical I'm afraid.

It’s in our DNA. 2003 semi vs Millwall is the one that rankles with me. Win that and we had European football and we just didn’t turn up

Missed it as was in Tenerife.
Obvly watched it in a pub but was crushed by the result as we'd blown chance of euro footy.
Was long walk back to resort after match:oops:

Re 85, didn't think we played that badly, Norwich also didn't really play well at all but got the big break in the game - still think their goal was offside.

I was 11 at the time and me dad got our tickets with property if Huddersfield FC stamped on the back. Obv a dodgy deal somewhere down the line . I only remember bits of it

One of my marras said the next time I saw him "You didn't freeze, you just didn't play." He probably got that right. We weren't giving the ball away constantly over the 90 minutes or panicking. We were just awful.

I was Stood right behind the goal and just knew Walker was going to miss, it still pissed me off to this day as like what op have said Norwich were poor...

Thought it was handball for the penalty?
Cried my eyes out at home, not sure if @rocky was the same as he was only 7.

I had in my head that Colin West was the regular penalty taker?

And their goal was a mile offside
