So can we catch Barnsley?

Our recent form is better than Barnsley, they've had 2 recent 0-0 home draws and will lose at Doncaster.

They've looked shaky since they hit 2nd and the pressure is getting to them.

Yes we can catch them, we'll beat Walsall and things will look a lot different.

We have 3 consecutive home games, in April, and they'r'e all games we can win.

Barnsley have lost twice the games we have and will lose more from now on as well ...

... we'll be fine.

We've just came off 3 home games in a row against shite teams. Only won 1 & drew 2! 4 points blown right there. Can't see us winning 3 home games on the bounce

I think teams have realised, without Moore, you can sit deep against Barnsley and they'll struggle to score - hence the 0-0's they've had recently (which also coincides with them letting fewer goals in - possibly because teams are more willing to sit back against them?)

I'd expect them to draw more often than people think they will.

I'm also hoping that the mini break we've got before the cup final will do us a favour in terms of being "fresher" going into the last games.

That looks too logical. Let it be true though, let it be true.

I'll stay hopeful until the arithmetic says otherwise but I think it needs Barnsley to have a major reversal of form.

I can't see our squad making a significant improvement in results, players are too inconsistent and we don't have the freakishly good goalscorer who got us points we barely deserved in the first half of the season.

It’s a 4 point gap with a game in hand bloody hell are some of you lot on suicide watch? Plenty of games to go. Until it’s over you fight if we fail Que Sera Sera back to Wembley to fight again.

Barnsley's arses will be twitching with us right behind them. 1 draw from them and we're right back in it. Our game in hand is a must win. I reckon it'll go down to the wire.

Hang on to your f***ing seats boys! :p

This is how I see it going for us........

Doncaster (A) Not sure
Walsall (A) Win
Coventry (H) lose
Burton (A) Win
Fleetwood (H) win
Shrewsbury (H) win
Plymouth (A) Draw
Blackpool (H) win
Bristol Rovers (A) Not sure.

Would be confident of beating Donkey Rovers had it not come so soon after the Sunderland game, as it is I’m just not sure what’ll happen, it’s a massive game if we win it I think your in massive trouble, lose or draw and it’s game on after that it’s one game a week until Easter.

How would we be in massive trouble if you beat donny, if we beat Walsall which I expect to it’s back to the same 4 points behind you with a game in hand just 1 less game till the end of the season. Anything can happen in that period, a sending off a dodgy decision here or there. One thing for sure it’ll be an exciting or disappointing end for any one of us, you or the southern tosspots.

Where will they drop points?

Three biggest chances to me are their visits to Doncaster, Plymouth and Bristol Rovers. Their home games all look eminently winnable though I think there'll be a slip in one of them somewhere.

The thing is can we take advantage? In truth, I see nothing to suggest we can. I'd expect to win more than we don't and I'd only expect 1 defeat at the most. But we coast through large parts of games, often giving ourselves about 20 minutes to win it. Barnsley are in your face all the time, we don't do that.

The draws unfortunately look set to cost us. I cannot see us winning enough to overhaul Barnsley unless they implode and that looks unlikely.

It's been a better season than I expected but I suspect we are heading for the play-offs.

I hope I'm wrong.
Goals win games & we dont score many.

If anybody at this stage had asked me if we could stay up when in the Premier League under Allardyce or Poyet I'd have said no.

When push comes to shove at the end of the season results for anyone can be random for any team - and I think we have the talent available to step it up a level. The league with 10 games to go is wide open for anything to happen - we just need to keep going and keep believing.

There's no doubt that Barnsley are looking over their shoulders, last night they could have dealt with us but didn't.. there's only so much pressure they can take if we can keep applying it.

They’ve gained 10 points on us in two months. If that’s us applying pressure then we are truly fucked.

They were fine coming up on the rails but seemed to wobble when the spotlight hit them ...

... a defeat tomorrow night, at Doncaster, could hit them hard.
