f***ing hell.
It's Wembley in London, England.
Not a hut in Outer Mongolia.

I always take a spare cup full of petrol and stand it on the dashboard. Careful when taking bends because I once took a sharp bend when the SAFC coach I was following turned off the motorway and I spilt half a cup.To those who are driving down what are everyone's plans (when do you plan on leaving etc) and how do you intend to manage fuel consumption? The last bit I know may sound daft but it is important. I don't want to run out just short of Newport Pagnell.
I am driving down and so far my only plan is to (stupid and perhaps desperate I know) use a coach as a sort of pacemaker. If I keep track of it I know I will get to Wembley in time. I have no idea what time I should be leaving or how many fuel stops I need.
What is it with this place and travelling to London?![]()

Grip that wheel tight, 60 mph all the way, stay in the middle lane at all times, never pull over into fbt left lane even if it's empty for miles. Ignore anyone flashing at you to pull over and never, ever overtake anything going slower than you in the middle lane, just stay behind it until it pulls over again.
We'll make a motorway driver out of you yet.
There"s a test, can I get one?Pass ya test first marra, then get mummy or daddy to buy you a booster seat.
Hopefullly this is a wooosh question otherwise it’s mad that people who drive would ask these question.
Don't let people get you down SBC.Hooray! There is intelligent life on planet SMB!! The first and only post that actually takes the point of my thread seriously.
I know seven pages man. What is it with this place and travelling to London?![]()
A cannit work out if this is a wind up or not?
Reet it’s 09:20... why don’t ya do a dry run now?... you’ll be back for tea time weather permitting?!...
Delete this post and hope for the best!

I reckon from Shields it's roughly 5 hours. Just fill up on way there and back.
My advice is to aim for one of the most northern tube stops like Stanmore and tube it from there. No point in battling against the crazy London traffic.
And enjoy your day. You strike me as a typical SAFC fan. Pessimistic as hell in every way.

Honestly this thread has pickled me head!!
If you’re following a coach - go by coach
If you’re following a car - jump in with them if there’s room and half the fuel bill?
Honestly am I the idiot here?... have I missed something really integral to this dilemma?
Dont know why hes going, he wrote the result off a fortnight ago.
But make sure the coach is actually going to Wembley first. You could end up in Newquay with the old codgers.

How much are the tolls and congestion charges these days ?
Setting off 7am Saturday, going down the A1, A14, M11.....Will be sat in my hotel in Stratford supping my first ice cold pint by 12 noon. Its 275 miles from doorstep to hotel, no fuel stops required, probs stop for a piss at some point on way down but factored that in.
A fortnight ago we weren't on top of the world. The team still had a bit to do to convince me we have a good set of players. Now they have and we have played some of the best football I have seen in years I think if we are playing to how we have done for most of the season lately and we can do OK.
I don't drink anyway.![]()
