We (RR) recorded a pod with George Honeyman yesterday. Won't link it as this'll only get deleted, but thought it was a really good, informal chat and he came across really well. Couldn't help but like the lad - admired his ambition regarding emulating and eclipsing the job Bally did as captain, the stuff about the celebrations down Walsall and his story about his upbringing. Worth a listen if you have a spare 25 mins or so today.

I find most footballers boring when interviewed as they tend to say the same things but I could have listened to Honeyman for longer, he’s an infectious character.

Great kid and is willing to graft. Just wish he showed more quality. Has minimal assists and goals given how forward he has played. That said, if we were playing a midfield 3 he would be important for that role. As a 10 though...... Not close to being good enough

He comes across and speaks really well.
The idea of a regular captains review is a good one, maybe monthly? Although these things always go well when the team is winning and we all know what happens when we have a dodgy run.

I’d prefer him to be Michael Gray and captain us to two 7th place top flight finishes and earn some England caps.

Ball will do though

Kevin Ball you say George? No mate sorry.

Bobby Kerr more like. :lol: He may even get to lift a cup at Wembley like Bobby hopefully.

While I don't want to focus on the negative side to his game. I think it's plain to see he lacks that bit of quality with his passing and first touch. He does a great shift and has a good engine in him though and, scores the odd goal.

A top lad all round and that's why he's playing. His attitude is superb but, I'm still unsure if he should be the captain :confused: so, if we do end up winning the league then, I guess the answer is yes. He should be captain :lol:

Ha'way George lad.

History will show how he comes to be recorded, he has a chance to hit the heights but;

Time will tell, if he is successful or not!

Kevin ball? Aiming high then. Bobby Kerr, Dave Watson, Gary Rowell maybe. Bally whilst a superb ambassador for the club, and full respect for that, was a very limited footballer
