BCCI calling for the ICC to ban Pakistan from the World Cup, because of the Kashmir terrorist attack. :rolleyes:

Strongly hinting they'll boycott the game in Manchester if Pakistan is not banned.

Classic. Load of political nonsense, IMO.

Got to say good on the BCCI....The leader of the terrorist group roams freely in Pakistan, with 42 dead soldiers their families wouldn’t be impressed if they played a game of cricket.

Problem I have with this is that it’s not as if India are a perfect nation without any terrorism problems of their own and have been involved heavily in escalating the conflict just as much as Pakistan, so how one can be banned over the other is a mystery to me. And with the current format, it isn’t as if the draw can be rigged to keep them apart. Don’t see any option but to make them play each other tbh
 
The ruling party in India does its best to wind up Pakistan whenever it feels like it. Imran is doing his best to drag his country into the 20th century although you wonder how much real power he has over the military/militants.
 
I’m constantly torn over sport in politics to be honest

Part of me says that they should be kept totally separate.

And part of me says that sport is always political. And if it isn’t used by the “good guys” it will be used by “bad guys” for propaganda.

In short, I haven’t a scooby
 
We possibly shouldn't have been playing Sri Lanka for a long period, given their ethnic cleansing attempts but difficult to know where to draw the line. I would say just play sport against anyone at any time, the notable exception being South Africa/Germany when they stopped people playing because of their race.

Spot on. Hypocrisy is strong when it comes to Indian cricket and their treatment of its neighbour.

Reckon their might be a few fisticuffs if this one goes ahead. Only time I’ve ever seen fighting at a cricket match it’s been where Pakistan are playing.
