If laughing at her actions is a form of criticism then I, for one, am guilty as hell, because I laughed my tits off at her actions. I laughed my f***ing moobs off, then I picked them up off the floor, clagged them back on and then laughed the fuckers clean off again. Then, you know what, I picked them up and stuck them back on, and guess what .... that's right, off they came again because I laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed with an occasional chortle thrown in for good measure.

I've quoted that bit myself, man. It's ambiguous as to whether the £43m is included in the £100m or not.

I've even mentioned that the second (earlier) article doesn't mention the £43m at all, further muddying the water.

What part of 'he paid £43M off the debt and lent the club £100M interest free' do you not understand?

Having a pop at Sunderland fans

MP complaining that a company in her constituency makes money. I quote 'and many estimates indicate the club has actually made a profit on player sales'. Presumably she wants it to make a loss instead? I wonder what her take is on jobs being saved at Debenhams, House of Fraser etc? Presumably she is against that as well?

She has a strange idea of what her role is supposed to be. If she hasn't noticed there are plenty of people in this region dependent on food banks. I strongly suggest she turns her attention to that rather than having a go at what is actually a successful profit making business employing people in her constituency.

My real take on this is that she is probably terrified about the effects of Brexit and what it might do to her cushy seat after the next election. What better way to get yourself back on side than to get the badly written bed sheets out and shout at a few shops from the back benches?

I would also be very surprised if its just Sunderland fans who think her intervention is weird, but then again, her saying that just gets even more of her constituents onside.

Funny thing is, I don't remember a Sunderland supporter making a tit of themselves in the House of Commons with an ill-advised "Ya divvent understand" motion about Mike Ashley and Newcastle United.

How Sunderland supporters can be to blame for ridicule she brought upon her constituency, her adopted football club and herself is beyond reason.

It's a stupid article anyway. Why say she "blamed Sunderland fans for criticism"?
Why not just write "Sunderland fans criticise Chi Onwurah"??

Or just that very astute intelligent Sunderland fans question MP for wasting parliamentary time on criticising a profitable private company who are just running their company the way they see fit.

Now if she had a go at them about tax evasion then that would be in her remit............

Can’t believe a mp has stooped to this level. Not bothered which party they represent, this subject has nothing to do with being in parliament

Look at Blackpool, is their mp up in arms over what’s happened to them? Only about a 100 times worse than Newcastle being in the prem and just spending £21 million on a player

I called Chi over and said here have you heard this joke, you'll laugh your tits off. I glanced at her bust and said "Oh shit you've heard it".

This is the quote:

Not sure why you have changed it?

To simplify it for you as you seemingly can't read the f***ing obvious.

There’s quotes all over the net saying he loaned the club £100M. Why would this (and other articles) mention a separate £43M if that was part of the £100M? He paid off (for free) £43M and loaned the club £100M. It could not be any clearer.

I understood it fine, thank you. You've just tweaked it massively to suit your bias.

Pretty embarrassing that you provide an article as proof which is easily dismissed and then you resort to amending the content of the article you provided in an attempt to prove your point.

You might as well have just changed it to 'Ashley lent the club £500m' if you're going to change it in any shape or form tbh.

By 2012 the interest free loan was up to £140M.

If I let the bath overflow and the floor caves in upstairs, I'd have to stump up to pay off my mistake too.

I know, no mag runs a bath but it's just a metaphor.

EDIT - Just read on

showed that Mr Ashley had wiped clean the club’s overdraft and external debts which stood at more than £75m when he took control of the club

So not £170m then?

Looks like a guess to me, 'more than 75M' and you need to add the hidden debt of £27M on previous transfers. Minus the sponsorship money already paid out early.

As previously mentioned, the Geordie mafia in the Hall's and Shepherd had you in debt up to your eyeballs, had gone begging Northern Rock for a sub and sold to fat Mike just before it all came crashing down. They came away from the club with many, many millions more than they ever put in unlike Mike.

Ashley's failure to do due diligence cost him £30M but he still saved you from bankruptcy.

I know nothing of high finance but even if a loan of £140M was only at 4% interest it would cost over £5M a season. Mike has taken that hit for 12 years.

Back to the original topic. The MP is a clueless gonk. How dare anyone tell someone how to spend there own cash? Howay divent invest in Hoose of Frasa, splash yor cash on wor! It's a joke.

I live through here for work purposes and she’s generally a canny constituency MP. But this whole charade has been farcical. There is so little evidence that Mike Ashley’s running of the club is damaging the city’s economy whatsoever. You could even argue that by trying to be pragmatic and keep them afloat in the top flight is in fact ultimately beneficial to the city as it safeguards the club’s long term future. As I previously mentioned also, there is absolutely no ideological grounds for her complaints that he isn’t spending enough on player recruitment and wages. How can someone who on the one hand is doing a cracking job of campaigning for improvements in living conditions for low income families and reducing homelessness on the other hand be asking for the money invested in the club by some of those people to be handed over to multi-millionaires?

She should have kept out of this issue entirely in an official capacity.

She's being an idiot but that's a stupid argument. A Premier League club shouldn't spend money to sign good players because they've achieved success and acquired money?
