48pts and a Cup Semi

Really? Who’s is better? Who else has spent £6m in this league? Who else was 5-4 on preseason for promotion?

Other teams in this league would dream of some of the players and resources we have, but we have a manager that can’t use them

Spending high amounts doesn’t always equate to better squads. And there are players in this squad, Honeyman and Gooch to name but two, who have done very little to earn reputations as good players, even at this level

I’ve seen no evidence it’s better.

And who’s fault is that? Who picks the team and sets them out playing in a certain way? Who’s constantly made selection mistakes week in week out? Who’s set us up so that we have looked incredibly vulnerable to set pieces? And unable to score a set piece between September and today? Who’s signed Wyke and Grigg for £6m between them and neither are fit to lace Majas boots?

Wyke and Grigg weren’t £6m between them for starters. And even if they were, it wasn’t Ross who spent it as you are insinuating

Two thirds of that on a player that has had 2 games coming back from injury, come on man, think about shit before you write it.

Look we are still grinding out points, we haven’t had a run of loses but yes I accept we are out of form. Every team hits a sticky patch though and this is just ours, it won’t last forever. Just get behind the lads and judge at the end of the season based on our position. People claiming the manager isn’t up to it are barking mad imo when we are fourth and still even automatic promotion contenders... if we were mid table I’d take your point but we aren’t so stop panicking over nothing and being the toxic influence you were during previous seasons

Cringeworthy claiming a semifinal in the checkatrade is something to be proud of. It’s a cup for reserves and kids ffs.

Fair enough but it was more to do with the fact there is a lot to play for when some seem to be throwing in the towel and wanting the manager out.

Try doing the Maths and you’ll find you’re wrong
Well the owner himself said Wyke wasn’t a million and also stated that the grigg transfer fee is based on significant add ons which include promotion to the premier league within several seasons... I suggest your maths is up to the standard of Diane Abbott, are you a labour councillor by chance?

that was quick maths

My point was the quality of player we have is vastly overrated by those continually quoting “this squad” as if it’s full of players better than the opposition. It simply isn’t. We got relegated with what was unquestionably the worst squad of players in the club’s history, yet this place was full of “this squad should be doing better” which was bollocks.

We scored from a corner three days ago?

Wasting my breath here but always feel this place needs a bit of a reality check.

Nobody is happy we aren’t kicking on. Not one supporter, player or coaching staff member believes we are performing to our full capability but the reality is there is a hell of a lot still to play for.

Missed the first half so can’t really comment but going front the second half we looked positive going forward just lacked a bit of composure when necessary. Will that improve, 100% positive it will if Ross finds his best XI and sticks with it.

Oh and fuck right off with the Jack Dross bollocks, idiotic and embarrassing that people are already naming him this and calling for his head. He should shoulder some blame for the failure to put teams away, he appears to be the stop them from scoring and we have a good chance of winning type manager. That hasn’t quite worked of late and losing our most potent striker hasn’t helped. Grigg will get his goals but to come into a team half way through a season is tough.

I do think that some on here believe we are still a Premier League/Championship side that somehow found themselves in League 1. Well sorry but all we are is a big club rebuilding a team in the third tier. Should we be doing better? Maybe? Are some players underperforming? Yes? Does the manager need to rethink how we set ourselves up? Yes.

But that’s it. Our players aren’t shit, they are League 1 players. The manager isn’t over his head he just needs a rethink and work with the players in training to find a solution. We need to go up I Understand that and it will be a massive failure if we don’t. A lot still to play for though so I’m not going to start hitting the panic button just yet.
Good post mate.

I have been critical of Ross recently because imho we have been too cautious. However, last night was a big improvement in terms of tactics and personnel and with a fair wind we could have won comfortably. Those criticising last night should give their heads a shake.
