Not surprising the amount of social media mags who are wanking all over this signing. I think it's a huge gamble. He's far more likely to flop and fail to adapt to the English game and the culture. He'll be loaned out to Espanyol or Sporting Lisbon next season for a year long loan.
Protests all cancelled now??

Could be a werld beeta or could be shite.

All I keep hearing is how they’ve broke their record transfer fee, means a lot to them.
Absolutely this, was saying the same to mates last night. They are obsessed which this transfer record thing and spending obscene amounts - the player has become almost irrelevant in all of it. A very strange breed they are.

Will they blame Rafa if he's shite? will they fuck.

It’s funny how when we were struggling in the PL, the Mags pissed themselves laughing when we spunked our record transfer fee on someone nobody has heard of.

Now they’ve done the same they think he’s the new messiah!

CBA to look, but i'm sure I read on here last night that they borrowed the money off Barclay's to fund this transfer, so Mikey still hasn't pulled out for it, is that so the payments become the responsibility of the ( possible) new owners?

I’ve watched him play over the last two seasons, I think he’s brilliant and will probably do well for the mags tbh.

The country you play in

ya f***ing helmet

So do you think the country he was playing in USA, has any idea who your new signing is?

Walking around their cowshed of a freezing training barn, when he's come from the training facilities they have in the US, I bet he's well impressed.

By some measurea, he's moving to a smaller club. Atlanta's training facilities are state-of-the-art and barely 2 years old. Plus, they have a better stadium and outdraw the Mags - regular-season attendance average is a couple thousand a game higher.

What's DP ?

Designated Player. It's an MLS-specific term that refers to the highest-salaried players and how they count with respect to the team-wide salary cap. All it really means from an international perspective is that he was one of the 3 highest earners at the club and was making over approximately $550,000 per year.

Like many I'm shocked they have paid that much for an MLS player. Even £10m or £7m would still qualify as a risk

I expect he will start well as he will be full of adrenaline and no-one will have a clue how to play him.

But we will see if it lasts.

Unfortunately he's a very good player and should suit the Premier League. Hes absolutely class on Footy Manager as well tried to sign him for Sunderland for a few seasons and he signed for Barcelona. Footy Manager is usually fairly accurate on judging players.
92 hmmmmm 1992 by any chance Howard ?

Cheers Mate, wasn't aware of how the MLS is run. I think I'll have a look.
