Grigg will be one pissed off cookie when Wigan go down, we go up and he doesn’t play. His value will plummet. It’s why I think at the end of the day (literally) he’ll be a Sunderland player. Just an opinion.

thats the balancing act isnt it, as failure to get promoted will leave us in a bit of financial doo doos if our outlay on players is huge (in comparison to other clubs)

I OBVIOUSLY don't want us to be paying out ridiculous fees that will put the club in jeopardy again, but too many people do not realise the implications of us spending an extended period in league 1. We must make sure that we give ourselves the best possible chance of going up without being completely reckless.

I’m sure the 3m being quoted is with add ons if we get back to PL etc. if we paid 1.5 up front with 1m in add ones and Grigg scores 15 goals to fire us up Stuart Donald and Jack will be a genius for having the balls to do it. If he takes that on and we don’t go up he will be all the arseholes under the sun.

For 3m to be triggered he would have had to play 100 games and us to be in the PL. then it looks cheap.
