Understand Sunderland are close to signing two strikers, one of which is Will Grigg. Four bids placed already for Grigg and SAFC are hopeful. The second striker is unknown, but one man they’ve been looking closely at is Boro’s England U19 international Stephen Walker.

Not that close then - as sweet fuck all has happened for yet another day. And whats happened with the leadbitter deal or is that all paper talk as well ?

So he said on the Roker Report Podcast that they last two bids we put in actually met Wigan's asking price. Obviously they are haggling over future sell ons, instalments, bonuses etc... but it sounds incredibly close to me. Also Grigg wants to join and his personal terms won't be an issue Keith said.
 
Downie was saying on the RR podcast we have had 4 bids turned down despite 2 of them matching their value but were confident of a 5th being accepted.

Wonder what makes us so confident after twice being told how much they wanted, and matching it. I also wonder how far over his value we are paying.

How does Keith know these things? It's funny, because I thought he was full of shit, then I amended my assessment to 97% of shit but now I'm edging towards the view that he's a genius with the powers of a seer....
