I disagree (Not with your hands tied, they clearly are) but with the fact its a bad deal. You are League one team at the moment, how many players leave for that price? You are talking about Grigg who is proven for 1m. Maja is untested at a higher level. He wasnt good enough to feature regularly before this season. This might be his level - the deal is a good one.
Can't see how selling your top scorer halfway through the season is a good deal. Unless of course he is replaced by a better striker.
Byee of course if he wants to fcuk off.

I don’t think there is a current player at Sunderland who would raise more than £1 million if we sold them at the minute. Unless Embleton or Robson come really good in the next two years. Or possibly Benji but that seems a few more years away
I think my point is that in our current situation, if any of our youth players do come good, we'll be lucky to keep them for over a season. Kimpioka, Embleton, Robson and Connelly are all pushing for first team football atm & if any of them have a breakthrough few months they'll get bids; can we refuse them?

Disappointingly I actually agree. Scored 1 in 17 last yr.

At the start of this season nobody wanted to play til Christmas with him as our main striker.

So long as the money's spent on improvements it's a good deal

There is a proper way to do things. That is the buying club make an offer to the club that hold the players registration. Once a fee is agreed, then and only then should the buying club speak to the player about personal terms.

If, and I say if, the press are to be believed then this agent has touted the player around to get the best deal (and when I say best deal I mean most money) for the player and himself as the agent. Nowt wrong with letting clubs know he’s available of course. But they overstepped the mark here by agreeing to join a club before the fee was agreed.

The agent will undoubtedly have advised Maja to walk out knowing that we can do one of two things. Agree to sell for whatever fee Bordeaux put to us or cut our noses off to spite our face and let him rot. Chances are we will take the former.

Agent is an arsehole and will be reprimanded but not heavily enough to not make his behavior well worthwhile.

As for Maja, well, I’m no God botherer myself but I’d like to think I have some Christian values such as treat others as you want to be treated. And he is supposed to be very religious .. The kid is a jumped up arsehole who the club have looked after and nurtured. So fuck him. Ship him out, take as much as we can and forget him. We will never hear of him again. Why? Well he might have some talent as a goalscorer, but only the strong get to the top of any game. And this kid is weak willed..he won’t make it.

What goes around comes around Mr Maja.

And yesterday he said he won't play for us again and packed his stuff up.

I realize ignoring this is the only way you can continue your agenda so crack on.

Right but we set a public deadline to sign or sell and he hasn't signed so was obvious we were going to sell him.

No agenda other than wanting us to be promoted because we can't afford to keep losing players from the academy & talented youngsters like Asoro & Maja. As I've said in another thread they were handed the club for nowt, debt free. We are in the third tier of English football and I expect to be promoted. Fabulous opportunity for all parties. Owners said they'd invest the extra matchday revenue and deliver the players this month, we've seen little movement yet however it will heat up. We are now also selling Maja who is our best player so I'm expecting big things in January. The owners will earn my respect if they get us up and then invest money into the side. I'll comment again in 9 days but sick of this agenda stuff & sly digs. Im sick of watching shite football to be honest, that's where im at.

I'm not going to criticise Maja when he's been great from us & when we set this public deadline. He's the only reason why we're so high this year.

What wrong with that like?, we’d have got next to fuck all I’ve he left in the summer for overseas.
We are third in the table chasing promotion, struggling to score goals and we are selling our top scorer for £1.5 million, hardly the type of money that’s impossible to turn down.......nowt wrong with that mate nowt!

People getting angry over fantasies they’ve made up, or others have, about what’s happened. Bent was vilified in much the same way because of such nonsense.
