You can’t accept that someone might think Maja is the wrong move so go onto personally attack someone

Why can’t you accept someone has a different view to you?

I can’t decide whether you’re the best WUM we’ve ever had, or if you’re just stupid.

Read back through what you said and you’ll find that you started the insults and getting touchy.

We haven't created more chances when Wyke has played, have we? The only difference is he hasn't scored them. I think that kind of proves my point. We need to find a way to create more chances than we currently do.

To the highlighted bit - that's entirely the point isn't it? Maja can't operate in other ways and so that limits the way the team can attack and create openings.

We haven't been playing that well and created chances with Maja, Wyke or anyone recently. What I was saying was that with Wyke in he'd created space for Maja on occasions occupying central defenders which Maja is unable to do on his own and thus aided a style of play that had become a bit stagnant showing that we needed variation and someone like Wyke showed that even if he's maybe not good enough in front of goal.

Plus he's missed a couple of good chances himself - a couple of headers for a start that Maja probably wouldn't have got to anyway one for being in the mix and one from a corner.

Also if you look at Watmore despite his technical limitations at times and his up and down form so far coming back from injury it again shows variation in forms of attack with someone able to get beyond defenders being direct running at goal. Maja's conversion rate is excellent, but he's no target man and generally he's to be found playing with his back to goal having to hold off defenders to try and spin and get a shot in. For me that makes us too easy to play against. Sure there's other problems, but that's definitely one of them.

Theres a reasonable possibility our performances and results will improve particularly if we bring a couple of proven forwards in (which this deal allows for financially). It's a shame when a young exciting prospect moves on but realistically the owners have managed the situation extremely well. He wants to leave now and clearly has more than one unbelievable offer in front of him. If anyone has been brainwashed it's Maja by his agent.

My worry is him leaving doesnt free up wages as he was on next to nowt. Hope we can bring people in and keep the efl happy.

So I’m a WUM for not wanting to sell our top goal scorer

You’ve replied 5 times aNd not mentioned football once

I think that says everything about you

Another post another insult

The whole ‘will he won’t he’ episode has been an unwanted distraction and is in part at least, responsible for our recent hiatus in form. Close the door on your way out Josh.
This. Bye Maja, now let's get somebody in who wants to play for Sunderland

Do you honestly think we will spend 4 million in the window? I just can’t see it.

I don’t know. There’s not much history to go off with the new owners.

If Maja does go, then this next week will be the biggest test of their time in charge IMO. Recent performances haven’t been good which has led to very minor discontent, our main signing from the summer looks way off and our best performing outfield player is off. They need a good week otherwise the good feeling their early work created could go up in smoke quite quickly.

We could lose out by not getting promoted marra

We could. But then we can't let 19 year old kids and their agents dictate everything even when we've offered them what they wanted. It's caused too much disruption already, if he'd just come out and said he wanted to leave and we got it over and done with less harm would have been done. We're not strong enough to deal with that yet.

That’s my view, people have to have absolute 100% faith based on very little

We’ve taken a fair bit in for transfers so far and spent pittance. They’ll have their financial reasons for that, fair enough, but it’s not convincing me they’ll spend all of this.

I think it’s an unnecessary gamble like

Why would we need to? Bordeaux are in Ligue 1, us in League one - there's a world of difference.

At the end of the day, Maja has lied to the manager and owner, been treat with utter contempt by his agent and by extension him and never had any intention of staying. Stuff him. I'm disappointed but no point in keeping him and 3.5m plus sell on is a good deal for a player we could lose for nowt.

It’s not about moral victories though is it? It’s caused disruption in the sense of them wanting to sell but he was still scoring when he played wasn’t he? I don’t get the rush to sell him.

For me there's too much going down now for this not to happen, I just hope we negotiate a sell on clause for the future .

Our turnover is about £5M more than was forecast at the start of the season, wages shouldn't be a problem

I thought they were factored separately? I could have totally misunderstood but I was under the impression we had an unofficial wage cap. Maybe it's just operating costs in general.

So you’re saying we sell our top goal scorer and won’t reinvest the money?

So why on earth are we selling him?

I can’t see the logic personally.

It’s a hell of a gamble anyway, if it pays off then fair play but it’s an unnecessary risk

you also said it was a risk in the summer when we didn't sign another striker but maja stepped up

i wanted to keep him until the summer but if he wants to leave now to the french top flight there's not much we can do but get the best deal possible. had it been a pre-contract, i would have thought he would have still produced the goods until the end of the season but he wants out now

i can't see us agreeing to this deal unless another striker is close to signing
