4 million for maja? are the owners serious? why anyone would pay that when they can get him at a majorly discounted price in the summer...

In all honesty if his agent has filled his head with tales of playing for bigger and better clubs and the best he can do is pump some stories out about Cardiff, Huddersfield and Boro the Maja really should be asking some questions.

Swop for Leadbootsbetter

I’m bored with this now, he blatantly doesn’t want to stay so fuck him off ASAP and get some replacements in.
The club will always be bigger than greedy fuckers

Can only sell him if a suitable offer comes in. It appears there is plenty of media stirring but no firm offers from clubs - will be a last minute offer at the end of the month with the hope we grab the money with both hands instead of losing on 1 Jul.

This. Although he'd help for the run in.. will his heart be in it if he's signed for someone else?

Not bothered if he stayed, soon as he stops being effective two yards from goal then hoy him in the U23’s, stunt his growth, he won’t be our asset no more so why bother with him, no room for loyalty in football as he may well soon find out.

If we can get a striker in that Ross wants, be it Grigg or another, Maja could well end up sidelined as you suggest.

Probably just to ensure they get to the front of the queue. The price might be discounted in the summer in terms of what they pay us, but chances are the agent will demand much bigger signing on fees/ agents fees as a result of there being a lower transfer fee. Financially for the buying club the saving probably isn't great, but if they agree a fee with us now they might be the only side bidding, if they wait until summer there might be 5 or 6 starting a bidding war. In light of this I don't see why Maja would want to move until his contract has expired but I can understand why the owners would set a price and hope someone meets it, and could understand the bidding team doing so

well that sort of thinking worked well for us with M'Villa, by the time we got him he'd turned into N'Dong and the price had doubled.

Latest link is to West Ham then loaned back for 18 months

Tin hat on but I wouldn't want that. I'd like him here for the rest of this season but there's no guarantee he'd do it in the Championship. Personally if he isn't going to stay, develop and potentially become a big asset for us financially I'd rather (if we go up) that we move on with players who want to be here. Be typical if he ended up being mediocre in the Championship and we were stuck paying a percentage of his larger wages, preventing us from bringing someone else in. Makes sense to have him for the rest of this season, unlikely we'll be able to afford or convince a genuine Championship quality striker to come when we might still be here next year, but if he can help fire us up there we should be able to attract someone in the summer
