All our deals are taking quite a long time because they are using hard nosed negotiating tactics, SD said as much in the podcast when he was talking about how much we paid for Wyke.

It's what was needed, but I hope the club aren't taking it too far though when dealing with contract offers for our most promising youngsters.

my main point.

he canrt get into the wigan team ahead of james vaughan..no champo team will want him on that basis except the ones who cant pay the money..

Mate have you seen Grigg play? He's head and shoulders ahead of Vaughan. I would imagine his confidence is down a bit so a move to us could easily restore that, look at what the move to us did for Maguire.

the difference between the two things is, the rules allow us to make good offers to academty players whereas they restrict what we can do with other players..thats why we can make an offer to maja that is what he wants..
is embleton in the top three most promising talents at the club?
is he more promising than bali and kimpioka?

the maguire thats a sub for us?

We offered Maja exactly what he wanted, now he's turning his nose up at it.
With regards Embleton we've no idea what's been offered. Hopefully it's realistic with regards the league we are currently in, his current performance and where the club feel he can progress to, with performance clauses in it. If not, we move on.
I don't see how it has to be any more difficult that that - lads get cut loose from teams all the time who came up through the youth and never quite made it.

We shouldn't be moving on from embleton like, he will make it, he has just been voted the best player last month in league 2

don't get how you seem so not bothered if he leaves, whats the point of the academy otherwise

I am sure he will stay, but don't agree with your attitude at all mate. I hope they aren't trying to be too clever.

the academt isnt there to produc only players of our level..its there ti prodyc players at all levels, if we can say to kids, look embleton couldnt get into the sunderland team ahead of aiden mcgeady, but he made it as a pro, that boosts the image of the lcub..now what level of offer do you make someone who is the fourth best prospect qwe have, but has little chance of dislodging the player in the first team in his position? he is good enough for league two? excellent..

Talk about clutching at straws.

The most short term attitude towards the club in a while, the absolute complete opposite of what we should be trying to promote.
