I doubt it. The full Monty Python team couldn't have made some of the shit up. I think it's things that have happened that couldn't be explained and put down to miracles etc. Mary to Joseph "honestly Joe I've never been with anyone. Oh it must be God then"

Can you imagine if she had passed out and someone had quickly had their way then put her dress back down. She might have believed it herself.

I think anyone who had a time machine would love to go back and just see what the bloke (if he actually existed) did to derren brown his way into inspiring people.

I think it'd be depressingly boring in that he either did not exist or just hearsay stories were made up about a crazy man.

There’s quite a bit of evidence that Jesus existed. I read up on it when I wanted to piss my mum off, hoping I could find no evidence, but, alas, there are plenty references to a chap fitting his description (you know....white, nicely trimmed beard, dressing gown and sandals with no water-marks on them).

Its sort of funny but also entirely not. Its pretty clear whats going on from outside - you have a very nationalistic government that is simultaneously trying to use the predominate religion to bolster the nationalistic worldview while also trying to ease it away from the actual dogma (and organisation) of the church, hence - yes framing Hinduism as massively important to the world and pretending it is the abiding singular cultural identity of the region - but also moving its discussion to pseudo-science and away from the puja and whathaveyou. Almost secularise the religion itself. Not wishing to Godwin the whole discussion but its a very well designed and well trodden pattern and can lead to some fairly godawful shit.

That was clearly the Egyptians there are hieroglyphics with helicopters and other stuff on them. In raiders of the lost ark the the natives had carvings and they showed alien robots too.
