I don't think it was obvious back then that he could score 15+ goals in L1 when he's surrounded by strong 6ft+ CB's. He has proved he can, well done to him.

Him and Ass..oro were both offered new contracts before a ball was even kicked this season. Maja stayed and performed excellently whilst still seemingly having NO intention of signing a new deal. That much is clear, but I thought he was off months ago anyway. Could see it coming a mile off given his form. How is Ass doing? Them two playing upfront for us could have been great fun to watch.

Seems clear to me that left to his own devices he'd sign but the agent is putting pressure on a young kid because he feels he can make more money for himself later.

He is 20 year old. If he was going to sign as suggested he would have. He hasn't. It's his decision. The agent doesn't make it for him

They're trying to bring down the wage bill to bring it in line with what they promised the EFL.

If we lose Maja his wages are a nothing part of that. I hope that we don't need to also offload Cattermole & Oviedo before making a significant purchase

On the same theme though, you are presuming a young lad will put all this fiasco behind him, not let his form or confidence suffer at all. Enjoy the full support of his team mates, enjoy the full backing of supporters, give 100%, not give a toss about picking up an injury prior to his ‘big summer move’. The hope that the dressing room will not be split, and other players will not take the piss out of the club in similar future negotiations. Or we can say thanks for everything Josh, cash in and buy an experienced striker who wants to be here. The latter sounds more preferable to me.

Sure it was a million in the end. They kept rejecting bids for him. Donald offered about 400k to start with and went on the RR podcast to say he’s offered what he thinks is a very good bid. Got rejected. Then the next one did but we had already missed out on about 4 strikers so think we just lumped all in.
