It's reached the point of no return now so i would personally drop him immediately. Why would we want a player in the first team squad who does not want to be here. Let him rot in the u23's for the rest of the season and bring in that Shankland kid. At the end of the day he employs the agent so if he wanted to sign he would of.

Because he is one of our best players and top goalscorer...

So he wants to sign, but his agent has told him not to.

Bravo Josh

This is what I don't understand.

What would happen if he signed against his agent's wishes? Would he be breaking an agreement with his agent therefore he could be sued?

Not sure how agreements work between players and their agents.

Judging from his goal celebrations recently, he certainly doesn't look like a player who wants to leave.

Yep he’s told the fans who are now in the picture...along with everyone else. You’d never see David Gill or even Ed Woodwood, Bruce Buck, whoever the comms person is at Liverpool it any other big club putting out sensationalist one sided story telling on social media. It’s not the done and there’s a reason for it. How do you reckon Maja feels right now, 24 hours before a huge game that he could have played a part in?

Who wins from this? The fans? Great we know he’s not signing. And that changes what exactly? Nothing. Except he may well never play for the club again

To be honest, maja deserves everything he gets can’t tell the club your going to sign for your agent to change that despite him wanting to stay Just ridiculous

End of the day he’s going against what he wants to do so he’s made his bed and he can lie in it!

See the fact there is disharmony and questioning of him tells me it isn't to the clubs or his advantage. Deal with things through official club ways. That happens and there is none of this and we'd all (or the majority) be happy.

Its not for me him dealing with things on twitter.

You are entitled to your (outdated) view mate ;)

Couldn't Maja just be like I'm signing without the agent telling him no or am I missing something? Seems a complete fuck on yet I thought the final decision was ultimately up to the player..

Donald has answered why he tweeted himself:

@SunderlandAFC To answer all those who say it should be in house. Totally agree. His agent phoned sky to tell them - not the club or myself who would have said nothing. The agent has made this public - not to the benefit of the player!!! We are responding not instigating⚪⚪

Nothing happens maja has decided to not to do what he wants that’s his choice could have signed if he wants too

Messing the club around

Because he would never have posted those tweets that is why. Its why absolutely no successful clubs act like this.

They do some fantastic PR stuff Sunderland, its really absolutely brilliant most of it, better than most clubs, but the tweets need to stop, its unprofessional and will put people off.

It also caused problems with Ross, which is why Donald was asked to stop earlier in the season.

Aye, Alan Sugars suffering by using it.

It happens regularly to us and we rarely successfully replace our best players.
Personally I have seen this happen for more years than I care remember that is why I shrug my shoulders and get on with it.
Part of the magic carpet ride that is SAFC

Because he is one of our best players and top goalscorer...

And the manager has said he's great to work with, committed and wants to learn. But apart from that...

This is exactly why it was a bad move from the owner to impose that week long deadline and then the response that then seemingly had to follow.
