He's a young player who's had an exceptional start to the season. He'll be in demand. We either want him for the ride, assuming we're ambitious ourselves, or we don't. It's much easier to keep what you've got than to look to find gems from further afield. If he goes, we'll be unlikely to replace him, and if we do it will cost a lot of money. This is an early test of the new regime - and whilst we do need to be way more sensible and prudent than the bad old days, we also need to see this through for the best interest of the club. Simply refusing to budge isn't always the right thing!

maybe they think its not ambitious to pay someone more than they are worth rather than believe in themselves to find better value elsewhere? he is someone with half a good season in league one who struggled a bit in the higher division.

wait and see is his best option, Oviedo might go and wages freed up in Jan. win promotion and season ticket renewal money rolling in etc etc

:lol: A was thinkin the same!!!... if it’s the case he’s literally gettin £60pw more than me?!... less if a work a couple of Saturdays!... cannit see it mind

He was signed from Fulhams academy for our development team and hasn’t had a new contract since so makes sense he’s on very little.

What doesn’t make sense is that when he started to feature on and around the first team we didn’t offer a contract, or offer a contract until well after this season started.

he must have signed apro contract? if he was in the academy he would have been a schoalr right? not a professional, and then he graduates from the academy and becomes a professional, and gets apay rise?

well if none of them want to sign him that would indicate they disagree with your valuation, do you know better?

A few points -

1) the big boys can sit back and get more evidence before signing players for whatever price necessary
2) I’ve seen him more than most if not all of the scouts
3) I have no idea how the scouts see him, and neither have you

As I said earlier, it’s my opinion and I stand by it. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’m right - only time will tell kidda

if scouts arent even looking at him, he would have signed by now, as there would be no other interest.
