No, I don't want to know what people drink before going on a date. Can anyone suggest a really good substitute for date syrup? Asda don't stock it, I've googled and can find recipes to make your own but I only need 2 tablespoons. Any ideas SMB culinary experts?

I've seen molasses on a few google searches, have no idea what it is. Noticed maple syrup also but was unsure as that's something I can get anywhere 24/7. Think I'll just use maple syrup and hope the quantity isn't going to make that much of a difference. Cheers.
