Northumbria police will be the winners here, they will be absolutely quids in. Tbh marra the price of the tickets doesn't bother me. I think it's poor not having an ST priority phase, and I don't think we should be giving them nearly 5k tickets.
 
The price doesn't bother me but I see where people are coming from.. I stated on a different thread is cost sunderlsnd 55k in policing costs for the boro game last season and that was throughout the whole of the ground. Wed do well to hit 20k for this

The club have been very good with the 3 home games so far charging £3 per ticket (Morecambe away was £10) So with this game that's £24 for 4 games, a £6 average which is class. I'd have been happy enough to pay £5-£10 for home tickets in this competition, but understand why they have had to put prices up for this game, not like they taking the piss, with £25/£30 tickets. Donald has also confirmed why he's having to do it. No point the club making a loss, its a business and businesses usually pass on costs to customers. Can almost guarantee majority of those who are moaning are people that haven't been to any of the other games, and are going to this as a one off. If we get to the final people will have to pay £40+ for tickets i'd expect.

In regards to away fans, they'll be entitled to a certain amount, if they want more let them have it if it means more money for us.

Ross will not want to lose this, it'll be the worst result in the clubs history so he'll take it seriously, just as he has done for every other game, only really Morecambe he played more of the kids but we were pretty much through and still had some experienced players playing. The club will view this as a huge opportunity to get to Wembley, the wont take it lightly.

I'm not sure why you're bothered about the ST priority period? It's not as if the game is going to sell out so I don't see what benefit we'd have got from a priority period? My only gripe is not being able to get my ST seat. If we're spending £15 a ticket then surely, even with increased police costs, we could afford to open the whole lower tier to our fans. My season card only works out at about £13.50 a game, I know others are more expensive but, if we get a decent crowd, I don't think takings will be massively lower than a normal league game. Maybe they're anxious it'll be a really low crowd like, but it seems a shame not to open it fully

It’s not so much the crowd that’s an issue, it’s the sheer number of flash points that up the costs. On a normal derby, with 2600 mags traveling, there are police at every metro station, with additional resources coming from Cumbria, SY and the BTP. In addition, police are required to close the north stand, as well as the area around St. Peter’s and the route of the buses.

If the mags get 3000 tickets, the police costs will be greater than Boro at home

Yep. Book through the hotel, sign up to the Hilton points scheme, and they give you a discounted flexible rate (can cancel up to the day before)

Probably wants to book his usual seat. I have to say that part of me is thinking about holding back on ordering in case my usual spot in the West Stand ends up on sale.

Fair enough if that's the reason, my seat isn't available for this one, was forgetting that for some people they would be able th get their seat if quick enough! It is a real pain in the arse this whole only opening a stand at a time thing. Can understand the reasoning for it, especially for games we're likely to get 8000 for and we're charging £3 a ticket, but a bit annoying for this one

Another element is that the EFL cover any losses incurred in staging games in the Group Stage, they stop doing that for knockout games.
