There’s an argument they will take the piss more if so many of our fans are so hell bent on taking a game against their reserves so seriously.

I’ll not be going. Not been to any of the checkatrade games. It’s an absolutely hideous competition.

First and foremost marra we should turn out to support the 11 on the pitch in Red 'n' White, 60% of which will probably be out 1st team squad, and secondly because it's against them up the road.

Yes, it maybe their kids, but can you imagine if they were to beat us....fuck, we'd never hear the last of it.

The match is in our City, our stadium, we can't lose against them for all of the reasons above.

We've won 6 in a row and taken the piss for years, their kids winning on the 8th Jan would give them the ammo to take the piss likewise.

I agree you'll always have differences of opinion, but for me personally I dare not even think about those tossers winning and taking the piss in the City after.

Hypothetical but I don’t think we would take 1/10th of that if roles were reversed. Minging game in what has become a joke of a competition.

You don't think we'd take 500 ?
We had over 1000 at Morecambe for a dead rubber ...

£15 to drub their kids and who couldn't beat Macclesfield at home ...what's not to like...

Could everyone stop pissing their pants about the prospect of trouble and get off their arses and support OUR team and city. It's the attitude prevailing on in this thread that is half the reason the fuckers have the attitude they have towards us that is because half our fans can't be arsed.

This. I don’t really agree with this competition but it’s a case of local pride for this one. It’s bad enough our first team are playing their u21s in a competitive match but it’ll be even worse if we don’t even get off our arses to support our own team especially with the expected following they’ll bring. Turn up, watch our lads sweep them aside and then move on and a line is drawn under it and move on.

Whats sartori like? A tramp?
Don’t think he’s a tramp. Janey says he smells nice.
You think he should be subsidising ticket costs like?

Police can override any league regulation on the grounds of public safety, so I will rephrase it. Would Northumbria’s finest allow Sunderland an allocation of 5,200 should the roles be reversed ?
More chance of me biting my own arse.

In spite of what you think constitutes skint, in real terms we don’t have a pot to piss in. We are running at a loss. If my bills exceed my income I’m pink lint mate. That’s where we are. It’s manageable but every penny is a prisoner and rightly so. You’d be right in thinking that the club almost going tits up scared the shit out of me.
Some have suggested free transport to Accrington.
Some seem to think this game should be ran at a loss.
The cost of those would probably go some way to a signing in January.

Reckon you'll bring many through, Cyril lad?

I’ve said all along that I think it’ll be less than 1000 so was surprised to see they’ve requested full allocation.
I think a lot will depend on who’s allowed tickets. If it’s free to anybody then it’ll attract the young daft kid so that would inflate numbers. I just hope that whoever does go doesn’t make a tit of themselves.

I thought the club were only running at a loss without the parachute payments. The club are committing to get the wage bill down to bring it in line with what they promised the EFL so that they would be sustainable for when the payments run out in 2 years.

Everyone's getting a good deal from the current relationship. The club will be sustainable even if they don't get back up into the prem & Donald will be selling the club for a lot more than he paid without having to really put money in. I don't think we are that skint where the club are charging the fans an extra £12 per head to pay the police because they can't operate.

Like I say im not bothered either way I'll not be going to be game. Just making the counter point, people are defensive over donald so always good for afew nibbles too :D

You joking mate? Too obsessed not to jump at the chance

Its all about making sure the club make as much money as possible from the pockets of the skunks.

I don’t have a problem with that.
I’ll be taking my two little lads so will cost me 25 quid to what doesn’t amount to Newcastle reserves even . That’s not about the skunks is it

There’s not that many things that seriously annoy me J. But it seems a lot of what I’ve seen over the last few days, is people complaining about what the club are or aren’t doing financially. In addition to free transport I’ve seen people suggesting free or subsidised tickets for the same game, free pints, and now this. I find it staggering that there are so many people out there that either don’t understand, or are unwilling to accept where we are as a club financially. I’ll be the first to admit I never concerned myself with the financial side of the club until we almost lost it.
Now when I see stuff like I’ve seen over the last few days it makes me jolly cross. Actually I’m f***ing furious. Scuse me French.

Fans for years have felt ripped off and it’s the mindset that needs to change. I think a lot of people subconsciously dislike or mistrust the club hierachy despite it fundamentally changing this summer. It’s a scar that will take a while to disappear I believe.

Agree 100%, apart from the white bit.

Spot on marra...

At the moment we don’t as a club generate enough income to cover our costs. If by playing this game ticket prices have to increase to cover this then I don’t have an issue with it. When all’s said and done if people don’t want to pay it they won’t go. That’s fine but it’s nee good twisting about it. It’s a fact for where we are.
Good luck with the fishing marra  I’ve given you enough sport to be going on with.
