With a few exceptions, The same ones twisting on about the ticket prices on twitter wouldn’t be going in the first place. Seems the honeymoon is coming to an end with the new lads. We have an element attached to our club that seem hell bent on whinging about it and or battering it at every opportunity. To be perfectly honest I wish they would just fuck off and take up origami or summat.

I think we'd take loads. Them relegated twice and we haven't been able to play them since to take the piss? We'd be there in our droves laughing at them. Even if they scored we'd keep laughing because it's only our u21s and we don't really give a fuck if they lose. But if we could be there to witness our kids beating their first team it would be an immense night that would be talked about and brought up for years, it's a hard one to live down. This game is a bit of a no win for us, it'll just be relief if we win it to avoid the piss taking, but it's ideal for them. We'd take loads and I think they will too

Police can override any league regulation on the grounds of public safety, so I will rephrase it. Would Northumbria’s finest allow Sunderland an allocation of 5,200 should the roles be reversed ?

We obviously wanted to win but when we went behind we didn't exactly go all guns blazing to get the equaliser. We only had 1 attacker on the bench so it meant that Watmore had to go off for a 17 year old central midfielder when we were chasing the game. Is what it is I suppose.

The council can refuse to issue a safety certificate but the police can’t not ‘allow’ it, technically. I take your point though, it’ll be interesting to see what happens

All just felt a bit half hearted. Not that I'm bothered either tbh. Love the FA Cup but it's all about the league for me. This mag game is going to have to be taken seriously now too.

Don't know marra. I wasn't even aware there was rules around away allocations until this came out. I'm surprised the police have agreed. It was only a few year ago they stopped us both playing at hime on the same night.

From the EFL website:

7.8 Each Invited Club must ensure that in each Match:

7.8.1 at least six of the starting eleven players named on the Team Sheet are players who were aged under 21 as at the 30th June in the year in which the Season concerned commenced; and

7.8.2 no more than two players who:

(i) are aged 21 or over; and

(ii) have made 40 or more appearances in a First Team Fixture (either in the starting elven or as a playing substitute)

So 6 of them have to be u21 and only 2 older players with 40 first team games. Mind the fines aren't exactly big, they could probably play their first team and get a 5k fine or something! Not that I think they'd stoop to such levels of course ;)

In spite of what you think constitutes skint, in real terms we don’t have a pot to piss in. We are running at a loss. If my bills exceed my income I’m pink lint mate. That’s where we are. It’s manageable but every penny is a prisoner and rightly so. You’d be right in thinking that the club almost going tits up scared the shit out of me.
