On this basis, no Newcastle fans would turn up for it?

Anymore than the 15 or so who normally follow your under 21’s away from home and it will be you who are taking it seriously.

It is just another game, we will batter whatever team you put out, like we always do.

I’m not embarrassed by that in any way as I had no control over it. The game against you does not make our position any more obvious. We will play whoever and whatever is put in front of us. What it may serve to do is remind the lads that play for us what is achievable if they give their best. Is it a derby? It’s sunderland v Newcastle. I want to beat you again. I always do regardless of the circumstances. I will enjoy it if we win, as will any supporter from either side of the divide. It was always going to happen mate. Things haven’t gone to plan for them this season - as the majority of them thought we’d go bust - and a win against Sunderland would make them feel better about themselves.

Make no mistake, they will treat it as a proper derby

Will I’ll be banned if I start abusing people ? I’d have thought so, the fact I’m not puts me in good stead.

I’d imagine we’ll shift a lot of tickets. It’s a spicy game as somebody said earlier and there’s always a daft element who travel to reserve games at Sunderland.

If Newcastle win, the ones who decide to go will celebrate it widely. A reserve team beating a first team, whilst rubbing in your current predicament would be an attractive proposition for some.
However, we all know it can’t be a proper derby when it’s not first teams involved ?

You must admit it would be a talking point if our u21's beat your main team. Imagine if it was the other way around.

It won't happen, it will be a total none event.

Lose 4-0 like Stoke v port vale, it doesn't matter. Its your young uns playing out first team. Win and it'll be embarrassing for a while like! What a f***ing horrible competition mind - no wonder all supporters want to boycott it and get it stopped.
