Thing is... mobile (cell) phones only work when in range of a cell tower. So unless she dragged a load of cell towers back in time with her her mobile wouldn't work. Unless its a satellite phone (which its not because it doesn't have a huge antenna) and even then she'd need to bring the satellites back in time with her as well.

Edit: just googled, every day is a school day. I have only ever heard the term used in the geological sence.
