On that criteria how the fuck are Leeds classed as a big club?????

6 games to win the FA Cup, as opposed to 38 to win the league (or 42 when it was a real competition).
How would that work out?

I don't know.
The lad i was responding to said a league should be worth 2 or 3 times as much as an FA cup. Ask him.

Would you rather be a big club, or a successful club ? Success is what will be remembered in history, not crowd size or catchment area.
Sadly, both clubs can now be classed as total failures in the modern football world.

This ^ in the last 50 years for both clubs there's only been one major trophy won. You can't argue that due to location and catchment areas both clubs are superbly well supported but in reality no one gives a fuck about that

We aren't bigger than Newcastle but they arent bigger than us to. People outside from the north east will say newcastle are bigger but thats because of what Newcastle did in the 90s & eary 2000.

You’d think being a ‘big club’ was all that matters these days the amount of time people bicker about it

Did people even discuss how ‘big’ their club is in the 70s and 80s? It’s all very ‘My dads harder than your dad’ for me. All f***ing bollocks.

Flawed. Number of trophies added together. League titles should count for at least 2 even 3 FACups. Some minor trophies on there too.

League titles at a time when there are only 14 professional clubs should count 3 times higher than FA cups? Are you serious?

And because people out outside of the north east can say so from a neutral standpoint.

Is the criteria trophies won and nowt else when determining who is the biggest club?
I wouldn't say so Tommie but it's probably the most relevant. Then again trophies won in the last 25 years would maybe be more relevant .

Sky have an average league position over the last 50 years if we're placing more importance on the league.

 Was thinking more major tournaments not a pre - season invitational

Wasn't pre season, and wasn't invitational after 1960.
Was initially one club per city, which was abolished in 61, although the english FA kept up this rule.
Fifa regard it as a major honour, although uefa don't because they didn't organise it, but they took over running it in 71 and renamed it the uefa cup.
