Sadly your recall is wrong Bruce 10th place was 18 points ahead of relegation. In context it has taken 7 years and a drop to the Third Division for any Sunderland manager to improve such achievements of a journeyman manager
Exactly, hype, hype and more hype mostly by Mags and simpletons that believe the hype. I'm pretty certain @rentaghost is a gravyboy he's always bumming them … Strange Sunlun fan. This is all down to hype that has been said so much that it is accepted as fact.

I thought it was even closer than that. I remembered we'd jumped several places on the final day with a win. Gravyboy Benjie was miles away unsurprisingly. Hype and lies just about sums them up.Sunderland finish 10th on 48 points, Birmingham relegated on 39 points. 18 points?
The old mag intelligence strikes again.

All this off the back of a flukey win against Watford, their first win since about May
Keane had it absolutely spot on. There are no fans as self entitled, arrogant or pathetic as mags.
March, apparently![]()
You're a strange one. After making a statement like 60 million people would say Newcastle are bigger than Sunderland you think I'm going to take you seriously? Always thought you were a gravy boy. You've just confirmed my suspicions.![]()
Cockney Wankers of Tyne and Wear iirc. We're further South.
Between 1978 and 2014 I missed around 8 home games in 36 years at Sunderland and was a regular away supporter between 83 and 96. Attended all the lowest attendance games full members cup, Plymouth at home attended the famous 6-0 West ham game in 1977 as my first game that I remember properly. Other supporters on here who know me and could verify are NCB and Walter / Bristow. So would you like to put your record up against mine?
With regards to Newcastle being a bigger club, they blatantly are but bigger doesn't mean better.
The level of delusion in their own supporters minds iirc.Have we decided on what makes one team bigger than another?
And yet Bruce stands as a colossus in Sunderland history over the last 60 years with a 10th place finish.
Up until 1890 Preston North End had won every league title and were most successful English league club in in history. One problem. It’s now 2018.

Ah, the "here and now" argument. Which undoubtedly makes Leicester bigger than Newcastle.

Define bigger? It carries a lot of weight. You could have had a reasoned debate about which club was the bigger in the 80s but dear me we are accusing them of delusion and at the same time arguing that we are bigger than NUFC when no-one at all outside of our own fan base would agree. This thread would get laughed at a amongst every other set of fans in the country.

Imagine how Middlesbrough feel.Let's face it we're like two bald men fighting over a comb. Outside the north east no one gives a toss about both of us
