Sardinia. Been to both. Prefer Sardinia. Cracking hiking in the middle bit. Text me if you like.Holding flights on both, which one for two weeks?
Oh wise SMB I can confirm Sardinia is absolutely magic. Am in love with the place, the Italian way, the beaches, the twisty mountain roads, the giant crisps instead of bread, the gelato, the hotness in September, the lot.
Having done extensive research on both I'd say you'd be better off going to Sicily.
Start in Palermo and go to Cefalu then head to to Taormina via Messina and fly back from Catania.
Sadly I never got to do any of the above as I couldn't get the time off but there's always next year.
Edit: ffs, hadn't realised it was an old thread.
And don't forget Syracusa, my favourite place on the island.Having done extensive research on both I'd say you'd be better off going to Sicily.

The only place I've ever seen people shooting up, in the street (back alley) and all at about 4pm in the afternoon.
I loved Palermo when I was there like.
Best thing about it was the road out

I was really disappointed with Syracusa. I think it was because we’ve spent a ton of time in idyllic Tuscan hilltop villages and Syracuse doesn’t really offer much extra. And it’s not as pretty. And don't forget Syracusa, my favourite place on the island.

Otherwise, decent city. Far from Sicily's best though.
I love Sardinia, some of the best food and beaches in Europe I've experienced.Oh wise SMB I can confirm Sardinia is absolutely magic. Am in love with the place, the Italian way, the beaches, the twisty mountain roads, the giant crisps instead of bread, the gelato, the hotness in September, the lot.

We stayed in an Airbnb there so we avoided tacky hotels. Didn’t find it too bad, some decent food and wine. Not as nice as Sardinia though.I've heard Taormina's very tacky as well.
It is. It's the tourist (American) hot-spot. Overpriced as a result. It's pretty but much preferred each of the other cities I visited.I've heard Taormina's very tacky as well.
