I drove up St Marks Rd yesterday after dropping some money off and noticed 3 things .

The place is a shit tip

Seemed loads of Somalian looking gadgies knocking about (they do all look the same the Somalians )

Every curtain /blind was shut bar about 3 houses .

My neighbours curtains are closed pretty much all the time, it's because she's a nurse and works permenant nights 5 days a week. There could be any amount of reasons but you've just decided that they're all wrongens

I shut my blinds if I’m watching tv during the day as the light reflects off the screen something chronic. It’s hardly an indicator of Muslim extremism.

The place he uses as an example every time is a busy through route between two main roads. It has a lot of pedestrian traffic at all times of the day and people’s front rooms and bedrooms are literally a metre or less from the pavement. It’s mental to not understand why people have their curtains shut. I lived on Dalton Place ( on St Marks Road) for 6 or so years and we very rarely opened our blinds in the front room because I didn’t want nebby fuckers, or worse, seeing in.

This is a problem with Sunderland though, it’s the dirtiest place I’ve ever lived, and needs to be addressed, I believe, at primary school level with a campaign aimed at kids teaching them why they should never be litter bugs. This would hopefully have a knock-in effect when kids pull their parents up if they see them littering. Another major factor is how windy it is in Sunderland as that causes havoc with litter, blowing it all over and generally making the place look a tip.

Good idea, although maybe after the litter bug lesson the school could have double "curtain opening" lessons too?
