Over the last few weeks they've been saying that the teams they've played have cost 100 times more .....

..... tomorrow there's absolutely no excuse although I'm sure they'll find one ;)

I'm not fully expecting a defeat as you are ... Palace have only scored 4 goals this season.

Same as Newcastle so why are you 'fully expecting' a defeat?

Because after the dispirited second half against arsenal,and the ultra defensive tactics I think we look like we are incapable of creating much, sacrificing attack for defence. Our better. players from last season haven't looked anywhere near the levels they were at last season.
I think the plan tomorrow will be to keep it tight, nullify Zaha. I fancy that he will score and following his interview last week, will receive more protection from the ref, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see one of our players sent off.
I think the tactics seem to wearing on the players a bit now, last season we deployed the same tactics and got some joy, this season nothing.
Apart from Lejeune we have everybody available so this is where he can get his best XI on the pitch if he wants to.
I expect us to lose, but there's no certainties in football

Is that because Benitez, and the supporters, continually says the players aren't good enough?

It has to be demoralising.

I don't know, could be a number of reasons. Wouldn't like to speculate as I don't know what the players are thinking.

I do think though that whatever spirit of togetherness with the fans players and manager there was in the promotion season and last season seems to have been eroded.

Is that a little bit of acknowledgement that Benitez isn’t blameless?
Negative tactics, the team set up to sacrifice attack for defence.

Course it is. Never once said the manager is blameless, nobody is blameless, and nobody is above praise either. They're all cogs in the same machine.
We're better at defending than attacking imo, so playing defensively is a valid way of getting results, but it seems to me certain players aren't putting in the same level of performance as they were last year, for whatever reason that is.

The tactics are boring.

When it works the players can, at least, gain satisfaction from the points,

When it doesn't it's a lot of effort for no result.

Have you read the comments? You can't criticise TFSW because he's a champions league winner, mag logic there , akin to shields NUFC supporters have an airport, shields SAFC fans haven't! They are hilarious like :)
 
I did laugh at what a lunatic Mitrovic was at the Mags but he’s exactly the sort of player you want in your team. Actually gives a fuck and busts a gut to score a goal.
