Geoff has been around the age group sides mostly. My understanding is Lewis doesn’t want him anywhere near the 1st team because, in his words, it’s not his remit.

Lewis needs to go, he has consistently coached a team that under performed and shown no improvement whatsoever.

The bowlers deserve a lot of credit for keeping them in the game for most days but the batting is shocking!

So not really a director of cricket it a pretty impotent one. As I said earlier Cook was the biggest victim of the purge at the club after his illness. Why during this time had he been employed by Northumberland and local clubs. Let's hope the new director gets a grip of the club.

Your problem is that you often make assertions then fail to provide any reasoning.

You said the club is not moving forward …. so in the interest of balance and to provide a discussion I gave you evidence as to why it was (moving forward). Now if you said the batsmen aren't good enough, there is at least some evidence for you to provide to back up your argument.

The league table doesn't lie. We are making no progress. Gone backwards this season.

Just spoke to a a lad who is down at the game until Friday and he said unacceptable & embarrassing.

That backs up the impression of when Cook was made Director of Cricket several years ago - that it was a soft retirement post.

Surely in any sane structure all the coaches report to the Director of Cricket? And surely all the coaches will report to the new Director of Cricket and I guess the future of the Head Coach will be on the to do list of whoever that is.

Again. You are aiming at the wrong target … that's looking backwards and only looking at Championship Cricket. Look at T20, they played as well as they ever have(just about). And new players brought in during the season - there are undoubtedly some good ones there!

But …. it's not good enough, I know that. And I'm disappointed with the heart of the batting in the Championship team.

Clark, Richo - we need better than what they are providing.
Poynter - he's done just about ok, but Champo returns are compensated for by his T20 performances.
Colly - no criticism from me, but he's showing that his time is up.

We need to find a couple of batsmen. Where from?

Agreed, surely adding Bancroft and Raine next season can only make us a better team than we are now though. Plus 1/2 more needed....:neutral:

Looking backwards?? I'm looking right now this season, utter utter shit. Hammered off Leicester. Bottom of the one day cup table. We've been bowled out twice for less than 130 combined. We all said last season "just wait until next season equal start etc". Heads need to roll for this shocking sorry excuse of a season.
