Close of play 224 for 7 rally by Colly and McCarthy
Personally I would rather get rid of Clark he’s done nothing of note in the championship and I think Harte is not adding anything either batting or bowling
He Imo is not the future and has been discarded by a few counties
All the batters have been rubbish …. harder to think of someone you'd keep tbh. (at least in the Championship)

Harte taking up more money at the club when paying real prospects next to nothing. Young lads in seconds on less than minimum wage and expected to be loyal to the club.

People complain we are shit yet are happy with people averaging 20odd
So basically you're getting rid of the lot then?

Said on here loads of times but I'd be looking for another club if I was a youngster at Durham whilst Lewis remains. Must be soul destroying for some of them watching the 1st XI under achieve yet get selected time and time again

Burnham based on what? Drink, drugs and an average of 20 for Hetton Lyons?

Based on the fact he was fantastic for England U19’s and touted by many pundits and cricket writers as a one for the future - he’s still young, I feel he still has a lot of potential, I’d like to see the club try to get that potential out of him.

Especially over a bloke who has no potential and has had many chances.

I note you don’t have any issue with the other names I mentioned........

Yeah, cause Jon Lewis never gave any of our youngsters a go did he? Ever?

It’s tedious and f***ing embarassing how blind you are when it comes to Lewis.

DCCC is one of the BEST clubs to be at for youngsters, in terms of prospects, in terms of getting a chance and in terms of history.

The youngsters have had very limited chances this season and are on pittance and a coach who basically doesn't rate them for red ball cricket. As for Richardson he divides opinions but was by far our best batsman in the one day cup. What other names have you mentioned?

Which continuous shite am I wanting to keep in the team?

Clark, Richardson and before you say I'm aware of his one day form but we are not talking about that

Davies, Jones, Harte, J Coughlin, Harding, Trevaskis and Whitehead have all been handed First XI debuts this year.

But yeah, absolutely fuckall chances given to youngsters at Durham

Youngsters given a shot in the CC this season: Potts, Coughlin, Harding …. as well as Harte, Jones and Dixon who aren't particularly young. Also Trevaskis and Whitehead in the white ball stuff.

Potts, Trevaskis and Whitehead have shown enough for a first team spot ….. perhaps Coughlin in time. Harding has had some good 2nd's performances but you have to wonder if we have at least 1 spinner too many atm.

The first 4 were thrown in due to injuries, won and never been seen since despite ridiculous failings by the 1st XI. Trev and Whitehead I agree good to see but as I've mentioned get them in the first xi red ball game. I never said "fuck all chances" either but twist the words to suit your view.

I omitted Potts simply because he made his debut last year - but clearly youth DO get given chances at Durham.

To suggest otherwise is barmy, when the person suggesting it is a so called Durham supporter it’s even barmier.

All just to keep up a f***ing tedious agenda.

So are you just talking about red ball cricket? If so then it's fair to say I've been one of the most critical posters on here this season about the 1st XI red ball cricket and have mentioned it 100s of times I'd be giving others chances. So I'm at a loss as to why you think I don't want to see players dropped. For the record I'd have dropped Collingwood ahead of the two you mention. I do agree Clark is fortunate to retain his place as are others but it goes back to a coach who in my opinion doesn't rate the the youngsters for red ball cricket.

I've already answered that question

No you didn’t, you gave a factually incorrect opinion that kept up with your agenda.

The first 4 were thrown in due to injuries, won and never been seen since.

WRONG.

Gareth Harte started the season and has played 6 (SIX) Championship matches. Ryan Davies and Josh Coughlin both played in TWO.

Would you therefore like to retract or qualify your statement?

Nope. Harte is 25 year old, not a kid.

245-8 now, 65 behind. Just noticed Rushworth’s record this season with the bat - it’s horrendous .

Obviously I know he’s not picked for his batting, but I used to think he was always capable of a valiant 30.

Anyway - 15 innings, 42 runs, HS 7, average 6.
