Why? It is a much more sensible form of the second person plural pronoun than the useless repetition of the first person that most of the rest of the country uses. While considered incorrect at present, give it a couple of centuries and the others will see that we (or Is as I prefer to call us) have the better idea.
Alternatively, when the education system in the north-east catches up with the rest of the country in a couple of centuries it will disappear entirely as it sounds f***ing rank.
