Rashid will be dropped for 5th test I reckon. Bring in an extra batsman.
Root doesn't trust Rashid, that's clear.
Correction: without batting well. The bowlers have, once again, shown their class.

Why is it though? He has faced the most number of balls this summer and is our top scorer
Take away any pre-conceived conceptions you have, he has batted the most responsibility, why can't he bat 5? Because he can also keep wicket?
Bairstow averages 40+ at 7, Buttler has been averaging 50 odd batting 6
Cook, Jennings, Ali, Root, Bairstow, Stokes, Buttler (w), Woakes, Curran, Broad, Anderson
Play Stokes as a batsman only if his knee isn't up to it.
Maybe bring Pope back and rest Jimmy or Broad if Stokes is fit enough to bowl?
Five is different to six... I just think it'll end up like Bairstow. He's a six or a seven. They all are tbh, that's the problem.
To be fair, he's offered very little threat and almost no control. Be a shame if he's kept in the team just to placate Modern in his desire to be "second spinner"Root doesn't trust Rashid, that's clear.
We may as well give Ali ago at 3 like, nothing to lose, he has batted there is whole county career
My team if fit is
Cook, Jennings, Ali, Root, Buttler, Stokes, Bairstow (w), Curran, Broad, Anderson, Leach
Don't recall. But ….. in my thinking moving Buttler around in the middle order is a different kettle of fish to moving a middle order batsmen into the top order so I'd find that acceptable. This was in part my point to you about Buttler/Bairstow though. Buttler at five is a square peg, round hole.

Genuine question what are theyHe is very consistent actually, look at his averages. Consistently good in England, consistently shite abroad. Like Woakes.
Genuine question what are they
Batting what are theyAverages less than 30 in England or thereabouts. Averages 100 away!
(With the ball, obviously!)
Batting what are they
Be great if Ali could get a TWM.
He's too loose for a number 3 though, and his weakness to short deliveries is a problem. Rather he focused on his bowling.
He's a bit flakey I wouldn't have him in the team abroadI think he's about even there, round about his general average which is about 35-38ish.
I think the way he's been messed around though, having batted everywhere 1-9 has undermined his batting.
Test Bowling Average in England: Moeen Ali - 31.49 Graeme Swann - 28.94
