Really don't think the 6th bowler bowls much at all

Sorry but Bairstow is in the side, one of the first names.

I'd have

Bairstow 7, Stokes 6, Buttler 5, Root 4, and then we need to find a new top 3

Ali at 8 in England, and one of Curran or Woakes with Broad and Anderson.

Its not that complicated for me.

Bairstow is the wicket keeper batsman at 7, I have no idea why they moved him, and if Buttler wants to be in the side, he bats at number 5, and based on his form, he can do that

Even if I take your point on 5 bowlers - and we move Ali to eight - I'm not having Bairstow at seven. Buttler is not a five, he's more in form now, but he's not a five. We need these lads to settle - Bairstow, bat at five, loses the gloves or he's out. Time to get hard on these lads and take tough decisions.

Bairstow is not a 5, and has produced many world class innings from 7

I can't believe you are seriously suggesting we drop Bairstow, he is one of the first names on the team sheet!!!!

I know its all about opinions but thats f***ing mental

Bairstow needs to pull his finger out. He's a better batsman than Buttler. He can bat five. Look at their averages, at both first class and test, and you can not really say Buttler five, Bairstow seven. I'm taking the gloves off him and Buttler bats at seven. I always want four seamers and abroad I want two spinners - I think we can be that team, eventually. But I am prepared to take your point on structure at the moment. But if we sort the top three out - then they can all move up.

We had 6 bowlers in India and it was completely useless. Pick your best bowlers.

I cannot see them going onto the sub-continent with only three seamers, Stokes, Broad and Anderson. All three are old or injury prone. That's where it will come in. They are going to shift someone - Ali, or Bairstow, into the top four to accommodate it, you watch. That's why they had a look at Moeen at three in my eyes, and why there have been whispers of Bairstow at one.

The other option is a straight shoot-out between Bairstow and Buttler. Buttler is currently winning.

He isn't winning, Bairstow bats at 7, where he averaged 40+ and scored 100s

Its that simple

There is complications in that:

We need to find a top 3 is a massive statement. We doing have one you cant just chuck 3 randomers in. Its not having a top 3 that makes it very difficult to have your 4-8 in place. Bairstow is one of our best 3 or 7 batsmen and shouldn't be playing at 7 - he has had issues this series mentally and technically but its nothing he cant remedy.

Absolutely mate, just not going to claim to know who the best options are, as can't watch that much CC now. So not really fair for me to say

Our middle order was sorted though and we disrupted it to try and solve the top order issues, its not the right way to go

I feel sorry for Bairstow and Root, they were settled in their roles and scoring big runs, and were forced up the order due to some macho bullshit

Let them play where they are world class, and let the selectors earn their money and find some players
 
That was out. Even with technology, they've still fucked that up. Bad 3rd umpiring.

Edit bad 1st umpiring anarl, looked out, should have been given straight off.
