It's the beginning of the end for Benitez at the mags.

If he's still tied into the contract in terms of paying back millions, he wont walk, if Ashley has to pay him off if he sacks him, he wont be sacked.

A slow, lingering. demise. Will he gradually lose the support of the players, knowing he'll not be there next season?
So basically a stand-off until the end of the season so neither one has to pay off the other.
Or it will get to the point where Ashley has to sack him, purely to try and avoid the inevitable relegation.
Rafa is as good as finished at the mags, but he has played the dozy bastards like a fiddle, and they lap it up.

That was hilarious!....the days before social media and message boards, we had their lives for weeks in end....please let it be like that!
Crayons, felt pens and sheets in shirt supply already.

The morning he went I went down to the landfill with a couple of mag-supporting mates. It was hilarious - like a candle-lit vigil without the candles. Grown men sobbing silently into their pasty wrappers etc.

Rafa can’t walk away as he will have to pay up the full value of his contract if he does so.

It seems ridiclous but it has been confirmed by George Caulkin and Rafa subsequently sacked his agent who negotiated that contract.

He’s stuck there whether he likes it or not. Ashley knows he won’t walk and all the talk is just noise.
I thought that was common knowledge but I keep seeing Mags respond to the question of why doesn’t he leave if he’s so unhappy (prompted by his incessant twisting) with ‘because he loves the fans’.

I would say having to pay £6m out of his own pocket to walk is a far more likely reason.

Serious question, but why is he a busted flush all of a sudden? He got a shower of shite to 10th place last season despite having to sell to buy and was praised by everyone in football for doing such a good job last year, now 4 games later( two of them against top four sides) he is busted and Newcastle fans should be demanding his sacking ? Yes last night was a shambles but you don’t get sacked based on two bad results in a week. Absolutely no logic at all.

Did he not have the worst run of results for donkeys years last season with that shower of shite?

Let’s not cover up what was a shambles of a season with a couple of lucky results! The same luck we had when we stayed up when we were shite.

You are typical of the gullible clowns we keep referring to, blinded by his name and quite frankly piss poor excuses.

He wasn’t praised for doing “such a good job” these footballing experts class it as a “miracle”!:lol:

There was only GD seperating 10th and 14th. It was a fluke finish not reflecting the reality of the season.

We still owe Rafa for coming in and keeping us up. If he hadn't blown it against Norwich, Villa & us we'd have been relegated.

Top manager who deserves more support on here.

i remember a mag being interviewed on local tv after the 2-1 defeat at SOL,he wanted pardew sacked as no toon manager should be allowed to lose 2 games to sunderland in a callander year..bizzare

Next six games are

Sat
01-Sep
Manchester City (a)

Sat 15-Sep
Arsenal (h)

Sat
22-Sep
Crystal Palace (a)

Sat
29-Sep
Leicester City (h)

Sat
06-Oct
Manchester United (a)

Sat

Could easy be going into that Brighton game in late October bottom of the the table with 1 point on the board.

they odds that FRB could walk before the Brighton game must be pretty low.

they beat arsenal late april that arsenal team had lost every single away game that year at that point, not even a draw, chelsea last game was a non event, late winner v huddersfeild, but a good win at LCFC and at home to MU,could easily of gone down
