Batting order for 4th test?

Curran in for Woakes? Bizarre to say the least

Does seem a tad bizarre and against current selection criteria. Must think we need the option and variety of a left armer in. I'm not against the selection. Just think it's time to rotate the two older lads (broad this time cos Jimmy is playing better). Thought that was the plan anyway.

He's injured, marra.

That looks like the weakest top order in the history of ever, even ignoring the fact that Cook and Root are complete rabbits currently.

Here's hoping.....

Root has said JB will bat 4. So I reckon.

Cook, Jennings, Root, Bairstow, Stokes, Moeen, Buttler (wk), Curran, Rashid, Broad, Anderson

That's not bad either tbh. Just not convinced one down is Roots best position.

Would have brought ali in for rashid and kept pope in

I think the bosses have promised Rash a run in the team and not being messed around. To get him to come out of retirement.

Think it’s a f***ing joke personally.

Dropping a lad like Pope who’s been brought in to bat in a position he’s never batted, for a bloke who’s just scored a double hundred batting in his preferred position of 3...... Oh, but he won’t be batting where Pope batted, he’ll be batting in the position that Pope is most comfortable batting in.

Absolutely jumbled up thinking, scrambled brains all over and one of the most horrific examples I can ever remember of simply shoehorning people into the side in order to simply get them a game.

Was a perfect chance to get Ali at 3 to fill that gap, allow Root to bat in his preferred spot of 4 and then have Bairstow, Stokes and Buttler coming in after.

That's exactly what I've been thinking mate but couldn't quite articulate it.
