I’d love to know how it was a defensive masterclass. When NUFC beat Chelsea 3-0 in May, Chelsea had 58% possession yet only managed 6 shots. Chelsea had 81% possession yesterday and managed 15 attempts at goal. That roughly speaking is a shot every 5 minutes of possession. It was dull anti football camped in your own half and hardly ever touching the ball. However the be all and end all is, it failed and they got fuck all. Were it to be a masterful defensive performance they would have undeservedly gained a point.

if he was more attack minded they would of got something from the game,a good manager would get more out of that squad,he moaned for money yet a £5 million buy has scored 2 from 2 start's,rondon will struggle and how perez keeps being selected is baffling, yedlin is poor defensively but is better at attacking than perez.

Rafa still got a lot to learn from the master BSA

Douglas screaming like a 3 year old again........Special

This Fookin creased me

"They did enough to frustrate Chelsea, who unravelled the Magpies with a contentious penalty and an own goal that came from a “soft” free-kick in Benitez’s words. They might only have had 10% of the possession in the second half, but Newcastle never really felt under much pressure.

The manager is adapting to what he thinks the club have shown is their priority: survival. If it means performances and systems like this one, he’ll sustain the reputational damage these sort of tactics do to him for the greater good of keeping the club in the division they deserve to be in.

Whatever frustration might build at waiting for the first win, Newcastle haven’t lost their key qualities of discipline, hard work and street smarts."

What the Fook is street smarts? Is this something only a werld class cerch can bring?

Any rumours as too the real story surfacing for him and the shiny headed lump?
one paper says the training ground on friday over tactic's,followed by another when JL was dropped for daring to question the ayatollah, ashley must be furious £50 million worth of talent being dropped,no chance rafa gets any coin in january now

That holiday of yours must be boring.

In all seriousness is there any of your lot slowly turning to this now, any murmurings or are people scared of being burned at the stake for daring to criticise Rafa?

How far into a disaster of a season would the majority go before turning on Rafa or would it simply never be any of his fault?

I work with a Mag season ticket holder and he can't stand the FSW. He's been doing his pan in for a good 6-7 months about his tactics. He says he's very much in the minority though.

Dermot Gallagher reckons clear pen for foul on Alonso. Scissor tackle, Craig Shakespeare agreed.

Mags will tell you the ref ruined Rafas master plan with a poor decision .

@lee_ryder: Rafa: “Possession means nothing. It’s a stat for TV. If you create five chances you have done a job.”

Did they create five chances ? If not you haven't done a job shirley.
