I touched on this a couple of weeks ago and today is the reason they won't get relegated. He seems to set them up against these top sides not to lose by many. They have lost 2-1 today and they play City next week. I can not see City scoring many.
Their relegation rivals will concede 5 or 6 against these sides.
The only way they will get relegated is if Rafa fucks off mid season

After what happened yesterday? I wouldn't be too sure.

That's fine if they pick points up against the lower teams but that point against Cardiff last week is a kick in the nuts. They could very likely be sat on one point in the middle of September and we all know how hard it is to get out of that kinda form
