He rates anyone at Yorkshire TBF. Probably think he's shite now.

Does this mean no Latham next season?
I wouldn't get to attached to latham he is only an overseas pro and the vast majority are only here for a visit especially those still involved in international cricket. He even appears reluctant to play as much cricket for us as what we are led to believe he agreed to play at the end of last season.
I would like Durham to identify a player who is available for the whole season for next year even if he is not a household name but has the mentality he is here for the 6 months. A bit like what they did when they signed Hastings and then if there is any cash left sign a 2nd overseas for the T20 campaign.

I'm not even sure if Latham is here for all of the rest of the season or whether he's available for the start of the next.

do we know one way or the other yet?

The DCCC website only says he will be available for the Glamorgan championship match on August 19....so looks like there's more chance of the Trapdoor Stand being open on Friday or Laura Wright joining me for a swift pint in Austins than him facing Derbyshire.:(

i suspect he can't play the t20 qualifiers [i have no idea if he's played for yorkshire this season in t20 mind] but my optimist hat hopes he can play the knockout games for us

speaking to a steward on sunday and he didnt seem to think the trapdoor stand was meant to be open this season and people snuck in. mind you he said it was cleaned out during the close season but i remember it being full of rubbish this season so i think he knew even less that i did later than evening when i was 2 stops from mortal.

They tweeted the other day he is only eligible to play County Championship cricket for the rest of this season.

ah crap, if i'd read this reply first i could have binned off the optimist's hat earlier. ithics

According to cricinfo this was his last T20 match.

His last one-dayer was June last year and his last Champo game waqs end of June this year (against Surrey at Scarbados), didn't score many.

At the Warwickshire Championship game I was having a bit craic with a couple of stewards before the gates were opened at 1pm and I asked if we were allowed in to the Trapdoor seeing as how it had been used for the International and he said he had heard nothing to say we couldn't and so I sat in it for three days and lived to tell the tale!:D

They got some Manchester lads in for a week to clean it up before the International fixture.

odd then that he can't play for us in the t20.

given that we've seen players on loan playing against the team that employs them...

Might be too late for T20 registration. Probably a cut off to stop teams drafting loads of players in for the knockout stages.

It's known as the Durham law. Precedents must be set
