Hales and Stokes

Stokes and Hales now face ECB independent disciplinary committee, likely to face charges of bringing the game into disrepute. Might take a few days, up to a week to convene.
Well done lads, IIRC.

Canny bloke who made a mistake and didn’t deserve the smear campaign

I’m absolutely chuffed for him and I’m sure he will learn from it

If the ecb ban him I give up, he missed the ashes ffs

The CPS disagreed. And it’s ridiculous to say incidents should only go to court if it results in a conviction. What kind of system would that be? May as well cut out the trial and go straight to sentencing

I didn’t say that you plank

It went to court as it’s was Ben stokes and not joe blogg

It’s embarrassing for all involved

Now go away

You were wrong

Rightly so.

You’re right obviously but this case shouldn’t have gone to court ,

this type of thing happens in Sunderland and Newcastle numerous times every Saturday night ,
I assume it’s the same all over the country,
I say Sunderland and Newcastle because I’ve worked them in the past

I hate those kind of inquiries. They always seem like a kangaroo court and a case of you're guilty if we say you are.

If they are found guilty they should take time already served into consideration and do not add to the punishment.

As for England. I'd leave this next Test as is but consider him for any thereafter. Better he plays for Durham first for his and England's benefit.

There seems quite a few on here disappointed he was found not guilty.

That's a strange thing to say. I think if people who love cricket strongly believe that Stokes was guilty then they do so because they genuinely think that way. I think hes been a bit fortunate but i'm certainly not disappointed, i'll be watching a world class cricketer in the Ashes next year. It could be argued that some people believed him to be innocent because they wanted him to be innocent.

I said yesterday I thought he was guilty but wasn't certain that he would be convicted. this was down to my own experience of jury service where I found jurors unbelievably reluctant to convict even when the evidence was very strong.

I was wrong about what? I’ve passed no judgement on his guilt or non-guilt. I don’t understand the reasoning and I’m not qualified to really say.

I know I can read though. And you said, in response to my post in which I said the authorities should fully investigate and consider incidents of a violent nature in our society, that that should only be the case if it results in a conviction.

A plank I may be, but your statement was nothing short of absurd

This type of stuff usually ends up with you spontaneously combusting and disappearing from the board for a while. I know you are having a few problems but take a few deep breaths.
