Ashley has made it clear he can’t compete with the big boys. 10th last season for a newly promoted club is excellent and I see no reason why they can’t hover round there again. It’s best they can hope for. They’ll spend on and around what they bring in and need to stop moaning on and get on with it.

Haven't saw it but heard parts of it on the radio. He totally reminds me of my little boy who goes in the huff and gives me one word answers when he doesn't get his own way. I was cringing listening to it knowing he is a grown man.

That's correct. He was hired firstly to keep them up, then to get them back up when he couldn't , and now to keep them up again. He is a very good coach and being paid around £5m a year to do his job.

Just do it, as some inane advert used to have it. He is good at coaching, but not so at the politics he seems to to default to at every club he turns up to manage. I think he is making an error here. It's one thing getting the fans on his side; that is part of his job. But using his relations with the media to play the fans off against the owner has not worked out well in the past and is unlikely to do so again. The difference this time is that he now has just about the best job he could hope for. The big boys now have other favourites to pick from.

Why are they worried he got them 10th last season so surely he can do the same this season he's world class apparently as they keep telling us

They're different to us and to almost any other supporters I can think of.

There's no other club with such a litany of sheer attention seeking stupidity imo.

You can always find examples of cringing idiocy, with any club, but these people have lost touch with reality.

As you say Ashley has been honest and admits Newcastle can't compete without risking financial problems ...
.... but, of course, the Nation knows best :lol:
