Real shame how money is affecting football mind. Honeyman is only 23, you'd think he'd want to give it a year here with the club he supports and hope to see us back up. I remember one of the last home games of last season seeing him looking devastated but staring up at the scoreboard hoping to see results going our way so we still had a chance. At the time I remember thinking "that's the kind of lad we need". The money is just so big now that seemingly you can't even afford to wait one year to try and come back. It's a lot harder to feel any bond with any of our players when even the (relatively) young local ones are leaving and academy kids are saying they won't come back to training etc

All Agent-led. Steve Perryman has a lot to answer for (if Eric Hall is to be believed)

More of a team in a higher league and a chance to make some good money. I honestly don't know if they will meet the price just know there is strong interest and he would be away if they meet it

Latter
Are we in for that Kamara from Dundee, looks like he’d be a great fit alongside McGeouch

Yes and Honeyman is definitely in talks with another club. Well we are in terms of getting to valuation.

I can't see him being made captain if he is off like

We need to keep the lad

If we can get a couple of million for Honeyman I think its a very, very good deal personally.

But I can't see us spending loads to replace him or out, I'd rather just keep him, I think he will fit into how Ross wants to play

Honeyman must be keen to leave as well mind, he's not some little kid who can be led blindly by an agent, if he wanted to give it a year here I'm sure he'd tell him. Contrary to some opinions I think he'll be a miss, he's got a knack of getting in goalscoring positions and think he'd have added a few for us this season

I don't get the stick he receives on here as he was one of the few who actually performed last year. His goal at Sheffield Wednesday was right in front of me and was great technique.
My issue with him was always his appparent fitness levels. He looked to me to be blowing out of his arse after about 30 minutes most weeks.

I agree with your sentiment, but he’s a bit shit isn’t he?! To the point where I’m not even sure if I’d want him in our first 11 in this league. I reckon everybody around him knows this is a great chance for him because I don’t think he’s good enough for Sheff Wed. He runs about a lot though.

He was also often trying to get through three players’ work though.

On the piss with Cattermole and Maggie most evenings, plotting the demise of Sunderland iiirc

Do you reckon you'll bring many up in November? (if it's not postponed).
I don't really know. We generally tend to have a very noisy away support, but we're far from the biggest team and don't tend to take very many fans to games that far North. For comparison, we would normally take about 150-200 to Carlisle in the middle of the season. However, the Sunderland game has been mentioned again and again on the forums and Facebook pages, so we may take a much bigger following than normal. We do occasionally take an unexpectedly large number of fans to games i.e. 1200 at Notts County last season, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Personally, I went to 17 away games last year, but missed Accrington, Morecambe, Carlisle, Exeter - the furthest away ones. I wasn't planning on getting to up to Sunderland simply because of the distance, but I haven't ruled it out.

Disagree, he tends to slow up counter attacks and lose the ball far too easily. He's not really a Jack Ross type of player apart from he scores at a decent rate. Very surprised JR made him Captain. It appears that Honeyman is rated by some but not others. All about opinions.

While I do agree with your point and think it would be in our best interest for him to stay, I hope this means that Embleton will get more game time and think from the glimpses I've seen oh him he could match Honeyman and hopefully progress.

Sheff wed are rubbish, im sure he'd be fine!

Only going on the YouTube video but one thing that really stands out with this lad is his vision. You can see he the way he shakes his body before a shot or a pass that he knows exactly what he wants to do and again only from the video he often executes it with very good technique. He is also not scared to try something whether that is a shot from distance or a flick. This one has me quite intrigued.
